Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape shifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. 2023.03.30 15:33 Discoid Almost done with Season 2... is it all downhill from here?
I'm replaying the first two seasons with my wife right now, who's never played TWDG before. I played the first two seasons (including 400 Days, which we skipped since I didn't remember it making much of an impression on me) when they first came out like 10 years ago (!) and we've been having a great time playing through the game together.
I remember really hating Season 2 at the time it came out. The first season was one of my favorite games, and I was excited to see what happened next with Clem's story as well as what Telltale would be able to do following the huge success of the first season. If I remember correctly, The Wolf Among Us came out before TWDG Season 2, right? I thought Wolf was okay but didn't enjoy it nearly as much as TWDG Season 1, and Season 2 was something of a nail in the coffin for me. I was really disappointed that their games still felt cobbled together and didn't seem to be getting more polish, I thought the writing was a step down from Season 1, and I remember feeling that either my choices mattered way less, or I had simply played enough Telltale games that the illusion had been completely lifted.
I'm enjoying Season 2 more this go around. I wanted to go in with an open mind and enjoy it as a story for its own sake, with the expectation going in that my choices won't affect the outcome much. It's been so long that I had forgotten most of the plot, and a couple of things played out differently from how I remember. My wife is also having a great time, though we both don't feel nearly as endeared to the Season 2 cast compared to Season 1's.
Once we finish Season 2 (side note - is 400 Days worth doubling back to before Season 3?) it'll be all new for the both of us, but without spoiling I'm wondering if I should temper my expectations going in. I'm okay with Clem being out of the spotlight for a season especially since I know she'll be back for Season 4 anyway, and I'm willing to engage with a whole new cast if they're well written and worth being invested in.
What are you guys' thoughts? If Season 1 is a 9/10 and Season 2 is a 7-8/10 with our biggest gripes being inconsistent character writing and unnecessarily hostile and unlikable main cast members, how would you guess the newer content will land for us?
Also, please tell me that the bizarre audio mixing is only a Season 2 problem in the Definitive Edition because this shit is worse than Sonic Adventure 2 at points and that boggles my mind.

2023.03.30 15:28 Duramazon0820 This Season Was Rough..
Before you downvote, just note, this is MY OPINION.
With that being said, this season was pretty bad. There were really only two episodes that hit for me this season (episodes 4,5) and the rest felt like rehashes of the same joke. And if the joke didn’t land the first time, the whole episode wouldn’t be funny. For example, I really didn’t like the Japanese toilet episode. Why? Same jokes. Over and over.
Maybe I’m just being grumpy. Idk.

2023.03.30 15:22 ps14-1 1st Time Using RVShare ... Renters beware the Terms of Service
Renters, beware RVShare's Terms of Service. In summary, any damage found during or after the trip is considered your fault. You must examine/test every part of your rental and document everything. It's on you to prove (with documentation) that damage occurred before you received the rental.
My story: 1st time renter, got a good price for a 5th wheel in Fort Collins CO for Thanksgiving, 2022, & the owner was friendly & helpful.
1) On the first night, I discovered the toilet water supply line was cracked. As soon as we turned the water pump on, a puddle started building up. Seems like it wasn't properly winterized in the past. I took pics & shared them with RVShare & the owner that evening.
2) At the end end, when the owner as picking up his RV, I saw him damage the slide out when trying to operate it.
3) My rental period was over Thanksgiving, so freezing temps, and pre-rental I verified with him (& documented it) the RV was rated for 4 seasons. Of course the gray water pipes underneath froze and cracked. They were not well insulated.
Conclusion: The owner stuck me with all 3 damages, and the Terms of Service were on his side. I argued with him about it, and he decided to claim the 1st two against his RV warranty instead (fortunately for me).
Digisure managed adjudication (RVShare won't help you). My adjudicator Cathy was pleasant, seemed to know I was getting screwed & the owner was a fraud, but apparently was bound by the ToS to assign blame to me. Her answer to the freezing damage was, "But it occurred during the rental period."
I will not use RVShare again, due to unfavorable ToS. If you have a broken trailer and want it fixed for free, just rent it to newbies & stick them with damage claims afterward. =/
If I rent again, I'll try Outdoorsy, since its ToS are much more favorable to the renter.

2023.03.30 15:16 MrBuckBuck [OC] Rusell Westbrook's 5/5 from 3 is the most 3-pointers he made in a single game without a miss - regular season & playoffs! A full list of his game with 5 3-pointers made or more. With some really interesting additional facts!
The first thing that came into my mind is to check it (after noticing no one posted something about it, here on Reddit - that's the first thing I always do).
Russell Westbrook's 5/5 from 3PT game box score vs. the Memphis Grizzlies 141-132 to the Clippers. His highlights from this game. Source: Russell Westbrook - I dug for his career-high in 3P (3-pointers made) and looked at the seasons he had 5 or more - playoffs & regular season. In his first 4 seasons in the league (including playoffs), he never scored more than 4 3-pointers in a single game. 2008-09 games log - no more than 3 3-pointers made.
2009-10 games log- no more than 3 3-pointers made (like in the previous season).
2010-11 season games log - no more than 4 3-pointers made, including 4/4 from 3PT (a career-high of the number of 3s made without a miss), which was on February 5th, 2011 - OKC won the Utah Jazz
121-105.
2011-12 games log - no more than 3 3-pointers made
His first game with 5 3-pointers made or more during the regular season & playoffs was in the 2012-13 season (games log): - 5/8 from 3PT (62.5%) vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on December 7th, 2012, as OKC won 114-108. Westbrook finished with 33 points on 12/26 FG (46.2%), 4/6 FT, one rebound, 8 assists, a steal & only 2 turnovers in 40:05 minutes.
It was his only game this season with 5 3-pointers, and he got injured in the 2nd game vs. the Rockets (first round).
He also had a 4/4 3PT game that tied his career-high on January 3rd, 2014 - OKC won the 76ers
109-85.
He didn't have any games with 5 3-pointers made or more in the 2013-14 season (including playoffs) games log.
In the 2014-15 season, he had a single game with 5 3-pointers made or more (
games log) & 2nd of his career, getting injured after playing 61 games, as OKC didn't reach the playoffs:
In the 2015-16 season (still in OKC), he had a single game with 5 3-pointers made (
games log) & his 3rd game overall with 5 3-pointers or more during the regular season (he got to the playoffs but didn't have 5 3P made in a single game or more):
- 5/8 (62.5%) vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, on November 16th, 2015, as OKC still lost 114-122. Westbrook had 40 points on 13/19 FG, 9/13 FT, 4 rebounds, 14 assists, 3 steals & 8 turnovers in 38:32 minutes.
His full highlights from the game (make sure to lower your sound before entering it, it is loud). In the 2016-17 season (still in OKC), he jumped to 11 games with 5 3-pointers made or more (
games log) during the regular season & 1 in the playoffs:
- 5/6 (83.3%) on October 30th, 2016, in the 113-96 W over the Los Angeles Lakers.
- 5/7 (71.4%) on December 23rd, 2016, in the 117-112 W over the Boston Celtics.
- 8/15 (53.3%) on January 5th, 2017, in the 116-118 L to the Houston Rockets.
- 7/12 (58.3%) - 2nd straight game, on January 7th, 2017, in the 121-106 W over the Denver Nuggets.
- 5/7 (71.4%) on February 3rd, 2017, in the 114-102 W over the Memphis Grizzlies.
- 6/9 (66.7%) on February 28th, 2017, in the 109-106 W over the Utah Jazz.
- 6/16 (37.5%) on March 2nd, 2017, in the 109-114 L to the Portland Trail Blazers.
- 6/15 (40%) on March 29th, 2017, in the 114-106 W over the Orlando Magic.
- 7/15 (46.7%) on April 2nd, 2017, in the 101-113 L to the Charlotte Hornets.
- 8/13 (61.5%) on April 5th, 2017, in the 103-100 W over the Memphis Grizzlies.
- 5/12 (41.7%) on April 9th, 2017, in the 106-105 W over the Denver Nuggets.
Playoffs:
- 5/18 (27.8%) on April 25th, 2017, in the 5th game & his final of the playoffs, in the first round, in the 99-105 L to the Houston Rockets, who beat in the series 4-1. Russell Westbrook had 47 points on 15/34 FG (44.1%), 12/17 FT (70.6%), 11 rebounds, and 9 assists (7 TOV) in 41:52 minutes. His Full Highlights from this game.
In the 2017-18 season (still in OKC), he had 2 games with 5 3-pointers made or more (
games log) during the regular season & 2 in the playoffs:
- 5/8 (62.5%) on October 22nd, 2017, in the 113-115 L to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
- 8/12 (66.7%) on November 29th, 217, in the 108-121 L to the Orlando Magic. A career-high in 3-pointers made that is yet to be broken & 49 points career-high back then as well. The Full Highlights of his game.
Playoffs:
- 5/9 (55.6%), on April 25th, 2018, in the 107-99 W over the Utah Jazz in game 5, in the first round, 3-2 to Utah Jazz in the series. Russell Westbrook had also 45 points on 17/39 (43.6%), 6/6 FT (100%), 15 rebounds, and 7 assists (5 TOV) in 44:00 minutes. Russell Westbrook's full highlights from this game, with a great comeback by OKC.
- 7/19 (36.8%), on April 27th, 2018, in the 91-96 L to the Utah Jazz in game 6 of the first round, Utah Jazz beat OKC in the series 4-2. Russell Westbrook also had 46 points on 18/43 (41.9%), 3/6 FT (50%), 10 rebounds, 5 assists (5 TOV), and 2 steals in 43:48 minutes. Russell Westbrook's full highlights from this game. In the game, Paul George choked really hard & ended up with 5 points on 2/16 FG (12.5%), 0/6 3PT (0%), 1/2 FT (50%), 3 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal & 6 turnovers in 45:27 minutes.
In the 2018-19 season (still in OKC), he had 6 games with 5 3-pointers made or more (
games log) during the regular season & 0 in the playoffs (in the 1-4 first-round loss to the Trail Blazers):
- 5/12 (41.7%), on January 17th, 2019, in the 128-138 L to the Los Angeles Lakers.
- 6/13 (46.2%), on February 22nd, 2019, in the 148-147 W over the Utah Jazz.
- 5/12 (41.7%) in back-to-back games, on February 23rd, 2019, in the 116-119 L to the Sacramento Kings.
- 5/10 (50%), on March 5th, 2019, in the 120-131 L to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
- 5/8 (62.5%), 2nd straight game, on March 7th, 2019, in the 129-121 W over the Portland Trail Blazers.
- 5/10 (50%), on March 20th, 2019, in the 114-123 Lto the Toronto Raptors.
In the 2019-20 season (now with the Houston Rockets), he had no games with 5 3-pointers made or more in the regular season & in the playoffs (games log). In fact, he didn't make more than 3 3-pointers (regular season & playoffs) in each of the games he played that season.
In the 2020-21 season (now with my Washington Wizards), he had a single game with 5 3-pointers made or more in the regular season & 0 games like it in the playoffs (
games log):
He also had this season HIS ONLY GAME IN HIS CAREER that he went 3/3 from 3 (!!!). April 7th, 2021, in the
131-116 W over the Orlando Magic.
His highlights from this triple-double game - with 23 points on 8/11 FG, 4/4 FT, 14 rebounds, 15 assists (5 TOV), and a single block in 37:42 minutes. -In the 2021-22 season (now with the Los Angeles Lakers), he didn't have a single game with 5 3-pointers made or more during the regular season or in the playoffs (which the Lakers didn't make).
Games log.
In the current 2022-23 season (Los Angeles Lakers, then Utah Jazz & now the Los Angeles Clippers), he had a single game with 5 3-pointers made or more during the regular season, as the playoffs are looming near.
Games log.
- 5/5 (100%), on March 29th, 2023, in the 141-132 W over the Memphis Grizzlies. He also had 36 points on 13/18 FG (72.2%), 5/9 FT (55.6%), 4 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 blocks & 2 turnovers in 35:30 minutes. It was actually his first game for the Los Angeles Clippers with more than 2 3-pointers made in a single game.
His full highlights from that game. Convington was 7/7 from 3PT, which is even more amazing nonetheless.
Overall: - Russell Westbrook only had a single game during his entire career (regular season & playoffs) that he went 3/3 from 3, and it ended up in a win.
- Russell Westbrook had 2 games throughout his entire career in that he went 4/4 from 3. He has a win & a loss in those games.
- Russell Westbrook had his best 3-point game without a single miss - 5/5 last night. And he got the win.
- Russell Westbrook still holds a career-high of 8 3-pointers made in a single game (but with misses).
- In total Russell Westbrook had 26 games in his career with 5 made 3-pointers or more, 3 of them were in the playoffs
- Russell Westbrook has a record of 12-12 in the regular season, and 1-2 in the playoffs when scoring 5 or more 3-pointers in a single game.
- In total (regular season & playoffs), his record while having 5 3-pointers or more in a single game is therefore 13-14.
- Russell Westbrook's career-high of 58 points happened when he had 3 3-pointers made on 3/9 3P (33.3%) on March 7th, 2017 - OKC still lost 121-126 to the Trail Blazers. Russell Westbrook highlights from that game.
- The favorite team Russell Westbrook makes 5 3-pointers on is the Memphis Grizzlies - 5 times & a 4-1 record (4 wins & 1 loss).
It took me a while, so I hope you'd like it. Yes, you too u/MITWestbrook.
Peace.

2023.03.30 15:16 sal_vetri 7 tiny free agency moves that have major impacts on fantasy football (and your league)
These are 7 tiny free agency moves that have major impacts on fantasy football:
1/ The Patriots signed James Robinson.
He’ll make $4 million over 2 years. New England also let Damien Harris walk. This is important because Robinson was 17% less efficient than Harris in 2022.
This is great news for Rhamondre Stevenson, who ranked 6th in RB efficiency last year. But that’s not all. In 8 games as a starter, Stevenson averages 15.1 fantasy points on 16.6 touches. More than Alvin Kamara & Dalvin Cook saw last year. He’s currently a major value in round 3 of drafts…
2/ Elijah Moore is now a Brown.
He’ll be the WR2 in Cleveland & play often in the slot. Here’s what you need to know…
Deshaun Watson is most efficient when targeting the slot. His slot WRs average 12.3 points in his 5-year career. This would rank 31st among WRs last year. However, Moore currently goes as the 50th WR in drafts.
Reminder: As a rookie he was Top-5 vs. man coverage & was the WR4 in fantasy points his final 7 games. A change of scenery is great for his value…
3/ The Bucs changed their backfield.
Leonard Fournette was cut & Chase Edmonds signed a 1-year deal. Edmonds is coming off his worst efficiency season. Here’s what this means…
Rachaad White is Tampa’s RB1. He averaged 10.5 touches as a rookie. In his 1 start he produced 109 yards & 9 catches. White also finished Top-10 in RB catches as a rookie. He’s a solid value in round 8…
4/ The Broncos signed Samaje Perine.
He’ll make $7.5 million over 2 years. This is above average money for a backup. There’s a reason for this. Javonte Williams will likely miss 4-6 weeks.
Translation: Perine will be the starter week 1. In 3 games as a starter in 2022 he averaged 110 yards on 21 touches. Perines backfield competition is not threatening either:
• Tyler Badie: undersized with 2 career touches
• Tony Jones: 90th in RB efficiency the past 2 years
5/ DJ Chark is now a panther.
He signed a 1-year deal worth $5 million. Chark goes in round 14 of drafts. This is interesting because he looks like the WR1 on this depth chart:
• Adam Thielen: 78th in WR efficiency, now 33 years old
• Terrace Marshall: Struggles vs. man coverage
• Laviska Shenault: 2 targets per game in 2022
Chark was efficient in 2022. He ranked 7th in yards per reception when healthy & was 13th at earning points vs. man coverage. He’s worth a look in round 14…
6/ The Bills signed Damien Harris.
It’s a 1-year deal worth $1.77 million. He’s going to receive high-value touches because RBs in fantasy have 2 cheat codes:
• Targets
• Redzone Usage
Now Harris averages just 1.3 targets per game in his career, but he does have the redzone cheat code. Harris is the biggest RB on the roster at 218 lbs. He now joins the Bills who saw the 6th most redzone drives in 2022. Harris currently goes in round 11…
7/ The Bills quietly added a WR:
Deonte Harty signed a 2-year deal worth $9.5 million. He’ll compete for the WR3 role in Buffalo. Now check this out…
Harty was injured in 2022. But in 2021 he was #2 in WR efficiency, producing 570 yards on just 59 targets. He’s the perfect fit with Josh Allen and here's why:
Harty was Top-10 in yards per reception in 2021. While Josh Allen was 3rd in deep attempts & 1st in air yards per game. Harty currently goes in round 18 of drafts…
Boom! That’s it. If you have a player I should add, let me know

2023.03.30 15:15 jkool702 Could use some advice on how to fix this retaining wall
Current state of the wall
We have a retaining wall that is holding up a small dirt road that leads to our dock. A few years back a part of the wall needed some work, and some family members decided that the best way to reinforce the wall was to stuff it full of fallen tree branches and sprinkle a couple bags of mixed concrete on it and call it a day. Unsurprisingly, now that a few years have passed the wall is starting to fail.
HERE is a link to an imgur album showing the current state of the wall. The 2nd picture in the album shows measurements. There are about 40 feet worth of wall that is failing. Half of this is 5 to 5.5 ft tall, and the other half is ~5 ft tall on one side and tapers down to nothing on the other. The total wall area is ~180 sq ft.
Note: Im fairly convinced that the only reason the wall is still holding up the road at all is due to the two railroad timbers (16 ft 6x6's) that are wedged between the dirt and the 3 large trees at the top of the wall.
There is also an issue where the summertime shoreline is the hill under the tree roots. (We live on a lake where the summer waterline is ~60 vertical ft higher than the winter waterline). There is a 1 ft tall x 15-ish feet wide by 5 ft deep hole under the roots of the big tree in the center of the pictures.
GOALS
My main goal is to fix the wall "properly" without it collapsing during the process. Money is tight so "as cheaply as possible while still building a structurally stable wall that will last 20+ years".
The secondary goal is to fill the hole under the tree roots in a way that a) helps the tree survive and b) wont wash out when it becomes the shoreline in a month or two.
Note: there is a good amount of natural stone in small-to-medium size pieces (quarter-size to football-size) within ~100 ft of the wall that I could use (at no cost) for this project, but would have to gather by hand. See this image.
IDEAS
I have a few ideas on how to deal with this. That said, if I really liked them I wouldn't have taken the time to make this post.
For fixing the erosion under the tree roots, my idea is basically to gather small-ish rocks, fill the cavity with them, and cement them in along the edge that will touch the water.
Fixing the wall is more...complicated, but my idea is more-or-less to tackle it in ~5 ft wide sections. For each section I'd:
- remove the current wall material (except for the 6x6 railroad tie at the top, which I might temporarily jack up to support it better when the wall below it is removed). I might need something to hold back the soil, but im hoping not....with only a 5ft wide hole and the railroad tie at the top our very clay-rich soil might hold (for a few days at least).
- screw one of these 60-in long double helix ground anchors into the spoil behind the wall so that the shaft is sticking through where the wall will be.
- build that section of wall (around the ground anchor shaft) out of something. Any input on what that "something" should be is welcome. Current options I'm considering are a) stone (gathered by hand from nearby) and cement, b) landscape retaining wall blocks (perhaps interlocking. perhaps mortared together), and c) landscaping timbers (placed in a staggered offset pattern with vertical pieces of rebar holding them together and going into the ground below). Id like to build in a drainage system of some sort too, but this depends on the wall material choice.
- finish tightening the ground anchor and bind the newly-build wall to the existing railroad tie above it (e.g., by embedding a few pieces of rebar through the railroad tie and into the wall). At 5 ft length the ground anchor's helixes should be well past the "wedge" of soil the wall is holding back and into solid/stable ground.
I know that a 5 to 5.5 ft tall retaining wall is typically in the "call a geostructural engineer" category, but that just isnt in the budget. That said, the 6x6 railroad timbers supported by a large tree on either side make this easier than your typical 5+ ft retaining wall. Between this and 8x ground anchors (each with a pullout force of 4750 lbs) the wall should ((I think) be stable for as long as the trees are there.
At any rate, that's my current best idea. Any better ideas / suggestions / input is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

2023.03.30 15:15 esran7 How are you liking Season 3 of The Mandalorian so far?
I personally noticed a big negative change in quality and tone from the very first episode onwards, as the Protect Grogu Arc was over I felt like nothing was being developed in a way that is dramatically interesting, even though the potential is right there. Instead stuff just sort of happens, our protagonists barely do or say anything, in the most recent episode a pretty core element to the story and source of conflict is resolved in a matter of seconds, just like that out of nowhere, the plot seems to be heading in the direction of the sequels too.
Friends didn't agree initially but have come over now. On
starwars and
mandaloriantv people are discussing the big moments or making references as per usual. imdb shows a significant drop in episode scores and overall ratings (from an average high 8.something to a high 7.something), the audience score on RottenTomatoes is at a 71% whereas Seasons 1 and 2 sit at 91% and 92%.

2023.03.30 15:14 oppadoesntlikeyou The realization of how much work and effort it takes to improve at League of Legends
Hello guys, so over one year ago I made a
post on this subreddit talking about how I couldn't understand why after watching many coaching videos I seemed to perform worse than before. The year 2021 was my first ranked season after picking-up the game and I was convinced I was better than many players around my elo due to amount of videos and guides I've watched before queueing for ranked.
It turned out that I finished that first season at Silver IV 10LP and dropped all the way to Bronze III during the course of season 12. Playing the ADC Role, I was blaming my team for stealing my farm, blaming my support for stupid plays and my junglers who picked up fights when I was at base.
I work full time as a software engineer and didn't have much spare time to play League and I was convinced that my destiny was to be a bronze player because of Riot's messed up MMR.
Season 13 comes along and I'm at Bronze IV, 20LP. I decided to keep a daily routine of playing 3-4 games every day, full muting all, and focusing only on my learning objectives.
My very first learning was map awareness, I chose this one specifically because on reviewing my deaths I realized a lot of my deaths were due to jungle ganks or midlaners roams. I practiced that objective for one week, paying attention to the map as much as possible, but soon I realized one week was not enough. After two weeks of intense practice, that was when I felt it was making a difference on my gameplay. I was dying way less often having 3 or less deaths through my games.
After those 2 weeks, I set another learning objective...CSing. My csing was really poor, especially for an ADC main, averaging 5.5 cs/min. Focusing on CSing was hard for me because my eyes constant shifted to the minimap and I often missed the right timing to last hit the minion, so I had to learn how to time my last hitting window with my eyes on the minimap. After 2 weeks, my cs numbers went to 7.5, which isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. I accepted that mage supports will use their abilities on the wave messing up my cs objective, but that is out of my control so I'm trying my best to not tilt with that.
One of these days I came across Riot Phroxzon's Leaguecraft series. It's old but I think they still hold up very well to this day. There was an episode called Diamond Eyes, where he mentioned that to fully comprehend and apply the concept of trading consistently it takes roughly 200 games. And that is only for trading. Imagine that? 200 games to learn how to apply ONE concept in your games where League has many and many concepts.
That actually made me feel better for some reason. I thought I was a no brain monkey for being Bronze after 200 games, but knowing that everyone who wants to be good and improve at the game follow the same hardships and need to have tons of hours and games played was very eye-opening. When we watch twitch streamers or Content Creators in the scene, we don't see how many shit and games they've had to go through to get there. I think this "masking" of how hard the game is and how much effort you have to put in can be very detrimental. You ask an advice on how to win games at low elo, they tell you "just have a brain".
Well, after 260 games, I'm still Bronze. Bronze II 60 LP, specifically. But playing the game with learning objectives is so much more fun than focusing on wins/losses. It makes me happy that I'm getting better with the champion I love playing.
Even if I'm still Bronze, I can definetely assure that I'm a better player now than I was last year, when I was convinced the problem were my teammates.
The road to improve at League is full of manholes, cracks and bumps, and it is for everyone trying to be good at the game, I'm not special, I'm not a victim of an evil mastermind at Riot's headquarters. It takes a whole lot of work and effort to improve at the game, especially on the role I'm playing, but I'm willing to persist and trust the process. I hope by the end of this season, I'll be good enough to finish it at Silver. I know this is not much for many of you here but being a solid Silver ADC Main makes me excited and looking forward to keep playing the game.
Thank you for the tips you guys gave me on that 2022 threadpost, they helped a lot. Also shoutouts for Riot Phroxzon's for doing the Leaguecraft series and Coach Curtis and Nathan Mott for their 3-block process philosophy, it helped a ton.
Sorry for the long ass post.

2023.03.30 15:12 anon_mouse82 What is Pierce actually worth?
In season 2, episode 4, “Safe Room,” Logan and Kendall offer Rhea upwards of 21 billion dollars to acquire Pierce, but that doesn’t close the deal.
In season 4, episode 1, the siblings offer 10 billion for Pierce— and that is seen as an immediate conversation ender.
Why the price drop?

2023.03.30 15:10 cuppycakeox Just started watching OB
So I just started watching this show and I don’t know anyone else who does, I am currently on season 2 just finishing up the episode where the kids witness ward murdering the guy.
I just have to say that everything I’ve watched so far from Kie has been SOOO unbelievably selfish and annoying. I cannot for the life of me stand her, her whiny little voice and her constant selfish acts. It’s getting to the point after watching this episode 2 season 2 that I find it so hard to finish the show 😂.
Does she get any better ? Or should I just drop the show before I cause myself stress

2023.03.30 15:08 thepresidentsturtle What is the ideal way to represent the first MK tournament?
An animated series with the quality of the MK11 story mode cutscenes would be incredible, but I think it would be too expensive maybe. But either way, there is so much potential with the MK world that a series could be really well received. But be it in a future game, movie or series (a comic would be dope too) how should the tournament format actually work?
In the original game, you fight the whole cast. Like if Johnny Cage is gonna save the wprld he's dping it by going through Liu Kang, Sonya and Raiden as well as the bad guys. And the bad guys are all in it for themselves.
The movie has the trio (3 fantastic characters to carry any story IMO) kinda guided by Raiden who doesn't participate and they face off against the 3 remaining characters plus Reptile and Kitana before Goro and Shang Tsung. And Art Lean is there, but he's one of the good guys. It's very clearly good guys vs bad guys. And Reptile still feels like a secret boss
Shaolin Monks is also good guys vs bad guys but they'ee all fighting at once. Incredible opening but you can't make a story around that. Also Kung Lao and Baraka are present and Reptile is not a secret boss.
MK 2011 is also good guys vs bad guys. Reptile, Baraka, Nightwolf and others participate. The Lin Kuei are on the bad guys' side but so is Scorpion who gets to fight Sub Zero. But it makes sense, it needs an expanded cast. But there doesn't seem to be a proper system in place, just who Shang Tsung chooses when he feels like it. Johnny Cage fights 2 opponents back to back.
Scorpion's revenge also has Baraka and Reptile show up only to get killed.
I think if a series were to tackle it, have the final episode obviously be Liu Kang vs Shang Tsung. But maybe something like the first half of the season be pre-tournament.
The cast would center around the 7 playable characters, making them unkillable. Apart from Sub Zero. But you still need Fatalities in MK. So 7 episodes of a 10 episode season on each character, with the Tournament covered in the last 3 eps.
As for the actual format, good guys vs bad guys seems the way to go, but with Scorpion, Sub Zero and Kano still having their own motives. Baraka, Erron Black, Ermac, and the rest of the jobbers are still there to job, but not killed off.
The main trio make it the furthest, with the bad guys killing the good guy jobbers. It's all tournament, nothing like Johnny Cage vs Baraka on some random part of the island where nobody is watching.
Jax doesn't participate, but he's still there to be rescued. It opens with Kano vs some no name good guy. Who of course, gets killed. No weapons, he doesn't use his "knoife" but he still kicks ass. Then Sonya beats Erron Black who has no guns. Johnny Cage fights a Tarkatan, and Liu Kang shows he's different gravy against another jobber. Sub Zero demonstrates that he's in another league, and Raiden has an "oh shit" realisation that this is trouble. He tries talking every Earthrealm born warrior on the bad guys' side into fighting to save Earthrealm, but Kano and Erron Black ain't gonna listen. But he does get through to Sub Zero. Who is only there on Lin Kuei orders. But he knows Raiden. He helped him save Earthrealm from Shinnok. But it turns out he is there to assassinate Shang Tsung, as the Lin Kuei aren't good guys but don't want Shao Kahn taking over.
After the first round, the 3 heroes have made it, as well as the other 3. There are more bad guys than good guys though, and so not all the bad guys have even been revealed. Before the second round, Kung Lao reveals himself. Raiden facelalms and Shang Tsung sends out another Tarkatan. Where Johnny Cage, Sonya and Liu Kang spared their opponents, Kung Lao performs a fatality. No hat though, so he's not at "full power" but he does manipulate wind. Baraka is pissed at losing such a good soldier.
In round 2, Sonya defeats Kano and arrests him even thoigh she wants to kill him. But she's a good soldier following orders. Johnny Cage beats another named character and everyone's pleasantly surprised. More no-name good guys die. Baraka fights Kung Lao. He reveals metal blades, where the rest had bone. Kung Lao has the upper hand, until Baraka does his projectile attack, hits Kung Lao in the face. Face covered in blood with shrapnel in his eyes, Shang Tsung says "Finish Him!" And gets gored by Baraka's left arm. As he's about to be decapitated by the right, he blasts a huge gust of wind from his palm sending Baraka flying and then teleporting, ending with a summersault kick sending his boot heel into Baraka's face, the Xray effect showing his face getting kicked in. Both fighters are unconscious. It's a draw.
Raiden heals Kung Lao who is out of the tournament, he is powerful but wasn't ready.
In round 3 Sonya is beaten by Sub Zero who is just like the recent movie version of OP. But doesn't kill her. Shang Tsung is suspicious. Johnny Cage vs Scorpion. Johnny once again shocks everyone by being evenly matched. Scorpion is no joke. But he has no weapons and isn't using Hellfire. Johnny wins with his signature Shadow Kick. And Sonya is like "wait, that's real? I thought that was a special effect in one of your shitty movies". Liu Kang beats Kitana.
Then there is a break. Raiden keeps Kano unconscious with his powers, but with Sub Zero and Goro left as opponents, Raiden and Liu Kang train Johnny Cage. Liu Kang explains how he uses his Chi, where most people's chi manifests as fire, and some rarities like Kung Lao's manifests as wind. Johnny's is unlike anything Liu Kang has seen, but Raiden knows. It's more powerful than anyone's. But he doesn't know how to use it, as he's very skilled but can't use his chi except for the Shadow Kick.
Sonya sneaks out to find and rescue Jax, they find themselves at the bottom of the pit, where they see Reptile. Reptile seems to be fully human, and is strong. Jax and Sonya have no chance. He followed them, and since they aren't in the tournament, he has permission to kill them. But Raiden is allowed to fight Reptile. And so he steps in and saves them.
In the next round it's Liu Kang and Johnny Cage who have to get though Sub Zero and perhaps others before Goro. Not all fighters have been revealed. Johnny vs Sub Zero. Oh fuck. But Sub Zero instead freezes Shang Tsung solid. This violates the rules of Mortal Kombat, Raiden pleads for Sub Zero to allow the heroes to win it.
This gives Shang timw to unfreeze, Sub Zero is disqualified and Scorpion is now allowed to take his revenge. And he wins, this time using his spear and Hellfire. Liu Kang gets to fight Ermac, and wins.
Round 5, Johnny is up against the final fighter, Reptile. Shang Tsung's bodyguard. Reptile toys with him and Raiden doubts if even Liu Kang can beat him. Reptile, at least in his human form is incredibly strong. The last known Zaterran. Johnny Cage eventually hits him with a chi blast which greatly injures Reptile. But Jonny is in no fit state to fight Goro and pulls out at Liu Kang's request. Johnny Cage sYs he's good at pulling out...
Liu Kang beats Goro after a long fight. Goro has fireballs too but Liu Kang is too skilled and while he can't do much physical damage to him he has trained his chi the best out of everyone. Think Oberyn vs the Mountain but without Liu inderestimating him.
Finally, Liu Kang vs Shang Tsung. Liu Kang is tired but since Shang Tsung never intended to fight his body is weak, and he hasn't eaten any souls. His chi is still powerful and his special moves are impressive, but Liu Kang emerges victorious.
This ends season one. And of course a season 2 would cover MK2. Sorry for the long-ass post. Bored at work and my imagination ran wild.

2023.03.30 15:05 DigitalConsent2 An Aussie preview to the IPL
Idk why am I writing this, but maybe someone will find this useful.
The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League is the sixteenthh season. It started in 2008. What a time that was. Australia had won their third consecutive ODI World Cup, the Aussie squad looked as good as ever despite a number of legends retiring an year ago. There were youngsters that promised, and quality players that couldn't get a game because the team was still that stacked. The first IPL season was no different. The King won it. As a captain. Someone who many would argue was robbed off a test captaincy opportunity, or at the very least, a Vice captaincy position. And he won "with a box of scraps" (with due respect to the other squad members). The first season had the winning captain (Warne), the higehst run scorer (S Marsh) and probably the best cricketer overall (Watson) all Aussies. Two of the three accolades carried to the next season, Gilly and Hayden the culprits. The influence of the Aussie spirit over the early seasons of the IPL is well documented.
This isn't 2008 tho, and neither is anything about the IPL. Teams are much more professional in their approach, the role of data and analytics in the game has increased exponentially, the "right" players get paid about double of what their national contracts would play, for a much less investment of time and effort, and freelance players for these franchises has now become a lucrative career choice. And as such, the Aussie flair has reduced drastically now, a number of players being either legends that have started regressing as they grow older (sorry Davey), players that mysteriously get chances despite underperforming (Dan Sams wtf?), players that seem to be good when they are in the game, but rarely make important contributions (Wade, Ellis), players that play because there is a small chance that they might come good among the other times that rarely do (Maxwell) or just good XI filler guys (Dorff). And as such, it isn't easy for an Aussie to follow the league, notwithstanding the absoultely amazing time zones (1;30 am smh).
A basic rundown:
There's 10 teams in the IPL, all named after the prominent cities. They all compete for a top 4 slot, who then compete for the trophy. The entire "league" phase is of a round robin format, while the "playoffs" are somewhere between a round robin and a knockout, with the teams that finished in the top 2 have some sort of advantage (don't ask me how). Also each team plays 2 games against five of the other teams, and 1 with the rest, so that every team has played a total of 14 games each (again don't ask me how). Also, there is something like an impact player, but I got no clue how that works.
Which team should I support?
Write all the team names in an aplhabetical order, load up a random number generator and input it from 1 to 10. The result that you get is the team you should support.
Shouldn't I select my favourite team according to the personnel?
Doesn't really matter. Squad changes are very common among almost all teams in the league, to a point where some teams that don't change that often are described as "lagging behind" on occasion (Chennai). For example, an old mate from NSW would realistically wouldn't mind rooting for SRH in 2015-17, when they had three blokes from the state in the team, Warner, Henriques and Cutting, but as of 2023, they have none. The team that had 7 Aussies in 2020 in their entire unit (three blokes, four support staff) have now got just one, Simon Helmot. You could maybe select a team that you would want to support this year because your favourite Aussie plays for them, but the guy could very likely not play for them next year.
I like XYZ Big Bash club, which team should I root for this IPL?
False equivalence. IPL wishes it was any where near the level of the Big Bash.
Which team is more likely to win?
The big thing about these franchise league things are that the difference between the sides is honestly pretty less than any international games. As such, any team could win the tournament and it wouldn't really be surprising. MI and CSK have been the most successful ones, so betting one of those aren't bad odds, if you are into that kinda stuff.
Which Australian player plays for which team?
Mumbai Indians: Tim David, Cameron Green, Jason Behrendorff, Jhye (injured and ruled out)
Kolkata Knight Riders: none
Sunrisers Hyderabad: none
Chennai: none
Rajasthan Royals: Adam Zampa
Kings XI Punjab: Ellis, Matt Short
Gujarat Titans: Wade
Lucknow: Stoinis, Dan Sams
Delhi Capitals: Warner, Mitch Marsh (and Punter as coach)
RCB: Maxwell, Hazlewood.
Why should I even watch the IPL?
I don't recommend watching it live tbh. Follow the highlights and scorecards of each game, if you can, scroll the Match threads for casual updates, and if a game really seems like it was fun, you can replay it if you have Kayo. 44 days of daily cricket can be exhausting, especially when you don't know half of the blokes.
You can still follow the IPL if you like "fun cricket". Aussie players play, but you don't really care if they do well, because it doesn't really affect your team.
Obviously, there could be some context behind the probability of Matt Short, Ellis or Sams(lol) performing so well, they could force themselves in the Australian T20 side, but who gives a crap.
Why do you watch the IPL, and which team do you support?
I watch the IPL because I was watching it last year, so might as well watch this year to see what's happening. Copy and paste, for the last 13 years.
I used to support Delhi at one point in around 2017, but now I don't care. I toss a coin every evening, pick one team and hope they win today's game. I don't like watching playoffs because they seem too serious for my taste.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
