Where to find scores?

2023.03.19 21:03 Zarberian Where to find scores?

I’ve been trying to look for the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate score to play and I can’t find it in the cliche spots (Hal leonard, Jwpepper, etc) and wanted to know if there’s certain websites I gotta look for, if it’s available at all.

2023.03.16 17:07 loveandvalor Where can I find the Unshaken (Red Dead Redemption 2) with the backing vocals ? I can only find 2 versions - one with a small harmony line and one without. I need the backup vocals!

I’ve checked on various music websites including Musicnotes and JWPepper but only the former has a version of Unshaken from Red Dead Redemption 2 with some semblance of a harmony line.
I’m performing this with a group of men for a concert and I suppose I could go by ear and transcribe it but I’ve never done so before and I have practically no free time before I need the music to start being rehearsed…
Is there not an official official official sheet music from the original soundtrack that D’Angelo sang ?!

2022.12.30 09:34 Tweeterhead JWPepper Down?

I was looking for a piece on JW Pepper when I noticed nothing would come up. To make sure it wasn’t just with that piece, I looked up Smoke on the Water and Crazy Train (because there are hundreds of arrangements for those). Still, there were zero results. Is this the same for everyone?

2022.12.13 02:16 KlythsbyTheJedi [Request] looking for a specific arrangement of “In the Bleak Midwinter”

Hi all, I’m new here, so I hope I’m doing this correctly. Several years ago when I was in high school, we sang a very unique arrangement of “In the Bleak Midwinter.” It was SATB, and I believe a capella also (or at least mostly). It consisted of two main sections.
In the first section, all four parts would stagger, whispering things like “snow on snow” or “snow has fallen” to create a sort of eerie-yet-tranquil effect that sounded like snowfall. After that and a bit of soft melody, in the second section, it would get loud and we’d sing the “our god” and “not earth sustain” bits.
I know it might be a long shot, but I figured if there was any place to ask, it would be here.
EDIT: thank you all so much for looking, but my old choir director finally emailed me back, and it’s this arrangement by David Eddleman!

2022.11.03 15:40 friendlynewguy Would anyone be interested in recording this accompaniment?

I'm putting together a last minute choral concert with my elementary students. I can't play this piece and direct (and I'm not great at recording myself). I've bought the music already and I'd love to hire someone to record the piano part. I can send the PDF. I can do venmo/paypal.

2022.11.03 04:34 AdvertentExactness Songs for Lunar New Year?

Hi all,
I’m beginning to prepare for some holiday concerts. It’s my first time teaching elementary choir and I’m looking for some songs on jwpepper.com. I found a lot of western holiday songs, which would be fine, however, I teach at an international school in Vietnam.
I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas or resources about Lunar New Year? I found a few songs about LunaChinese New Year on YouTube that I could just change some of the words to Vietnamese.
Anything that is just in unison or two part harmony would be fine.
Lunar New Year is celebrated much more than Christmas here, so I just thought it would make more sense to try and find a Lunar New Year song.
Thanks for your time!

2022.09.29 16:46 Zebbers950 Can’t find recordings of Three Cats Swinging in the Big City

Can’t find recordings of Three Cats Swinging in the Big City
I’m kind of in charge of finding repertoire from my college trio, (clarinet, flute, cello) and I’ve been looking at different sites for good clarinet, flute, bassoon pieces so we can use the bassoon part for our cellist. I found this one piece on j.w. Pepper called Three Cats Swinging in the Big City by Randy Navarre and I’m a huge fan of jazz repertoire, so the title and the preview page look really intriguing. The only problem is that, after looking for a recording to show my trio so we can decide if we’d like to play it before I buy it, I cannot find a recording anywhere and there’s not a preview recording on J.W. pepper that I can find. Does anyone know anyone know anywhere else I could look besides the obvious places like YouTube or just a general Google search? Or is anyone else able to find a recording?

2022.09.03 06:18 Van0258 Pls help me find music :(

I need help understanding what publisher this is, or what it means. The publisher ASE keeps popping up, and I looked all over jwpepper and couldn't find that publisher or ever what it could stand for. I found other publishers like Alfred Music Publishing, and Hal Leonard corporation, but I just can't find anything that links to ASE.
I have solo and ensemble coming up soon and I want to do Maple leaf rag (PN5051) but its under the publisher ASE so I'm kind of stuck here not knowing what to get.
Edit: it means Any Standard Edition :)

2022.08.21 18:44 Ok_Atmosphere_72 study plan for a somewhat advanced piano player

I have been practicing for 2 1/2 years now, am 27 years old and have been consistently averaging 1 1/2 hours per day of practice. I can sight-read Liebestraum No. 3 (except for the quick part that spans multiple octaves, sorry I dont know the technical term for that) and similar pieces although of course I do not play them nearly as fluently as one is supposed to. This is to give a rough impression of my ability level. I have also studied https://www.jwpepper.com/The-100-Most-Essential-Etudes-for-Piano/10577787.item#.YwJKJHVBxH4
and can play everything in there sight reading at reasonable speed.
I am unsure what to tackle next as in what book to buy or what pieces to practice. Mostly I just sight read a piece instead of partitioning it. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I am not good at naming notes by ear so I was wondering if someone could help me out. There’s a trumpet solo and the end of the linked song and if someone better than me could tell me all the notes.

2022.06.08 18:42 QuasiAbstract [R] "Breathe on Us Again" included in Choose This Day published by Hal Leonard

I'm looking for a single piece of sheet music - "Breathe on Us Again". It looks like it was originally done by Promise Keepers and included in the Choose This Day book: https://www.jwpepper.com/Choose-This-Day/5817796.item
Though, that looks like it might be a solo vocal with piano accompaniment.
I'd rather find one that is a four part vocal arragement, like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eCa81EC9PM
Can anyone help?

2022.05.02 05:38 Asphoric Looking for choir repertoire!

Hi there! My name's Logan, and I'm going to be a senior in HS next year.
My choir directors want me to put together a Choir Repertoire list since I'm essentially going to be the Chief Student Conductor next year and I'll probably have the chance to conduct at Solo & Ensemble, concerts and the like. Any song suggestions? I've just been scrolling through JWPepper looking at music that might work for each choir.
Here's the choirs I might be working with: - Advanced SATB Chamber Ensemble (approx. 20-25 members) - Advanced Concert Choir (approx. 45 members) - Mens Ensemble (approx. 30 members) - Treble Singers (approx. 30 members) - Beginning Concert Choir (approx. 80 members) - Combined Choir (approx. 200 members)
Any and all recommendations help and I seriously appreciate it! :)

2022.04.19 05:06 Ill-Caterpillar4392 When I buy sheet music, how can I just download it as a pdf and not have them ship it to me?

For further detail, I'm ordering a piece from JWPepper and I want to just have it downloaded as a pdf on my computer. However the only option when buying it is for it to be physically shipped to me. There's no e-order option for this specific piece either. Is there any way I can go around this?

2022.03.18 15:25 GrillOrBeGrilled What differentiates stands music from show music?

I can't seem to tell what makes something particularly suited for stands music, as opposed to something a band would play at halftime, particularly a non-competitive or college band.
Obviously, you're not going to set up your full front ensemble in the stands, and things like drum breaks don't seem to be well-suited, either. I assumed that limited percussion would be a defining characteristic of stands music. But then I listened to Tom Wallace's arrangement of I Like It, listed with "Stands & Pep Band" on JW Pepper. You can't tell me the percussion is "limited" in that arrangement.
Next, I thought that maybe it's length: "stands music" needs to be short enough to fit into a timeout. Besides the venerable "Shorties" series and its Hal Leonard counterpart "Stadium Jams," everything in the Stands & Pep Band section on JW Pepper is 1:30-2:00 long, just like most marching band arrangements and slightly longer than a timeout!
What makes an arrangement "stands music?" Is it really just marketing speech for "popular" or "lowbrow," contrasted with field music which is supposedly more "high art?"
