2023.06.06 06:47 shyla-schmiddt Say NO To Tangling With These Hacks!
| Say NO to tangling with these hacks! As curly ringlets have a different texture from waves and straight locs, they may appear perfectly groomed one day and unmanageable the next. In spite of the volatility and unpredictability of spiral strands, proper haircare of deep wave hair extensions can reduce problems like frizz, tangling, and breakage without upsetting the natural springy curls. A little bit of commitment to caring for your beautiful bouncy mane and the correct concoctions can help you achieve the perfect look. Detangling your hair can sometimes be time-consuming, and it might even damage your deep waves if done the wrong way or using the wrong tools. Proteins in the hair strand give people curly that enhance and support your curls, rather than weigh them down. Read on for step-by-step instructions on detangling your curly hair or for your deep wave bundles without breaking or damaging your strands or disrupting the shape of your curls. Replenish Parched Strands If you have spiral deep waves you may be more prone to damage and dehydration. To help prevent frizz and keep your hair nourished, try using natural almond & avocado curl-enhancing mousse, gel, or butter once a week. Alternatively, natural oils like coconut, french argan oil, or peppermint & aloe soothing scalp tonic can be beneficial. Simply take a few drops and massage them into your scalp and strands. Leave it overnight and rinse it out with shampoo the next morning. Choose the Correct Ingredients Right Ingredients for Deep Wave Hair For curly coily hair, it is not just a matter of using the right ingredients, but also avoiding harsh, stripping products. Curls require significantly more moisture than other hair types because their natural oils produced by the scalp cannot always reach the hair, leading to more frizz, tangles, and dryness. Thus it is important to use shampoo and conditioners that are very hydrating and nourishing. If you have coily, curly, or kinky hair, a cowash, also known as a conditioner-only wash, is the perfect solution to prevent damage, breakage, and frizz. It replaces your regular shampoo and conditioner wash routine, and won’t strip your hair of its natural oils. We recommend the Design Essentials Almond and Avocado Nourishing Co-wash which will help maintain moisture and restore hair’s natural texture. Having clean, healthy hair is essential, and shampoo is a necessary step in the process. However, skipping conditioner would be a mistake. To keep your curls looking their best, start with hydrating and nourishing your hair with a conditioner. After conditioning, the curl-defining gelée form is the perfect way to enhance your curls with a frizz-free definition, and retain moisture for a soft and bouncy look. Use Hair Serum Serum for Healthy Coily Hair Hair serums keep our hair shining, frizz-free, and tangle-free. Besides, when using hot tools deep waver. To help strengthen and smooth your locs, Indique has created Silk Essentials Thermal Strengthening Serum. This lightweight serum penetrates the cuticle to lock in moisture and restore shine while also protecting your hair from extreme heat. Protect your hair from heat It’s best to always use a heat protectant before styling your hair with heat. Your risk of developing heat-damaged hairstyle increases when you use hot tools like blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons. When subjected to high heat, the keratin strands in your hair alter in structure. A light, heat-protecting serum that strengthens and smoothes the hair is the Silk Essentials Thermal Strengthening Serum by Indique. Detangle Before Washing Always Detangle before Washing Before washing curly hair or deep wave bundles, detangle them. Brush your hair thoroughly and detangle it. In addition, do not rub your hair too hard when washing, thereby preventing tangles. Use Silk Pillow Cases Knots in your hair can be caused by friction between your hair and pillowcases. Use either a silk or satin pillowcase while sleeping. These materials have softer fibers, which help to avoid tangles. Conclusion If you are new to deep-wave hair bundles. This guide from Indique hair store should have provided you with plenty of information on how to make them last. Since these extensions are made from human hair. submitted by shyla-schmiddt to u/shyla-schmiddt [link] [comments] |
2023.06.06 01:17 virtualkutie Loc thinning
2023.06.05 18:40 California-Dalia Would it be ok for me to get braids (I am not black)? What are the risks of the hairstyle on regular wavy hair?
I have always loved the look of box braids especially really thin ones. I also love locs, and my hispanic coworker (ex stripper, i an a pole dancer) has locs and i love them on her. I am half middle eastern and half Mexican. My hair is dark and wavy and long but extremely thin. I frequently make mini braids in my hair anyways and decorate them with hair jewelry but I wish I had all braids. One thing, my hair is a good length but it’s super thin so I would want extensions otherwise I’d have like four braids on my head lol. I also have a lot of baby hairs that wouldn’t braid.
However would this style damage my type of hair? Is it worth it? How long does it last/can I get them removed or is it meant to last a certain amount of time?
In the Seattle area btw.
I don’t intend this post to be offensive in case it comes off that way I am just genuinely curious about this style

2023.06.04 21:15 Maximum_Pharse Cut it or keep it?
| I need the professional advice of strangers on Reddit. I’m trying to grow some locs and I just don’t think the style works for me! I have 4A hair, and my scalp is very prone to getting dry, and while I like locs I just don’t think I can go without conditioning my hair for the sake of the locking process. I also just think I’ll look better with a fade again. I know you can wash with conditioner when trying to grow them, but every time I did all my comb coils slipped out. I have 2 strand twists right now and it never quite looks right. What do you guys think? Should I cut my hair or keep growing and keeping up with my locs? Firm believer in trusting the process but which looks better on me? I’m also very bad at taking pics lol. submitted by Maximum_Pharse to BlackHair [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 19:26 EastAd4062 Retwist
Hello, So I’m a bit conflicted on whether i should get a retwist before i go on holiday.
My last retwist was a bit over a month ago which was a protective style. However, when i took out that style i also rinsed my hair and it’s come out a bit frizzy but nothing unbearable
I started my locs in January and right now my hair is in it’s budding stage.
I plan on going on Holiday in July but i’m not sure on whether I should retwist my hair before i go, and the thing i’m worried about is if water does end up in my hair would it ruin the retwist?

2023.06.04 18:20 Better_Apartment2021 Mom is being dramatic about me wanting to fix my damaged hair.
TLDR: story time about how my hair got damaged due to my mom’s negligence to my natural hair and how Im slowly trying to progress to going natural.
So my mom is very narcissistic I can’t even say controlling atp. She’s very afraid of me looking like a guy in any sense. Me personally idgaf about my gender representation as long as I'm happy. But she refuses to let me take care of my hair because of it among other reasons. My mother had stated since we were young she hated doing our hair and got herself locs for the reason she can’t do hers. To be honest I’m glad she stopped because she would threaten to cut our hair when she got tired or to lock it because she didn’t want to do it.
I honestly think its rooted in jealousy because she tells me when I asked her once to just loc my hair she said try all the styles out there before you decide. But then goes to tell me I have no right to do anything with my hair like make up your mind.
So, I got my hair straightened a lot as a kid. But add on getting relaxer at some point without my consent at the hairdressers 🙂. Probably aware of the result but as I got into high school I didn’t realize how bad it was. I got comments from my friends even that my hair was even dry and brittle in its straight state. It was (still kind of is) so frayed at the ends and super dense and not moisturized it feels and looks awful in its natural state. That caused a wave of insecurities when I realized, unlike my other black peers I was going through it with my hair.
Tbh it was probably hurtful at the time but I’m thankful my friends informed me because my hair would be in a horrible state right now. I'm almost 16 and feel like I need to be able to do things with my hair if my mom doesn’t even want to bother. She already complains about getting my hair straightened, complained about my hair getting braided, and now complained about me trying to cut it so I can have healthy hair.
I started to get braids because I was like until my hair grows out or I cut it I'm not going to straighten it anymore. So I get braids a couple of times and my hair got better I got a silk press at a black-owned salon rather than the one in my home town which probably should’ve never been an option. They managed to maintain my hair and not make it worse and even my sisters did as well. But still, the hometown salon had already done so much damage to our hair that when if we went anywhere else there wouldn’t be much change.
So about 2-3 months ago got my hair braided by a family friend so she cut my hair because she has years of experience doing hair and trims and styles natural hair all the time. She trimmed it and cut a good bit because, for the life of me, I couldn’t stand the pain from the brittleness and drynesses and my very sensitive scalp.
So when I told my mom she was like “wtf omg your hair never going to grow back and when it doesn’t I'm going to laugh at you” or “Your hair was long the straight pieces are just normal”. The only reason my hair wasn’t growing back was that her neglectful self never wanted to do my hair or teach me. Plus she never even bought the supplies to style our hair as a kid maybe some moisturizer to style it.
If my dog gets his hair done more than mine there's a problem. But she pretty much manipulated me to feel bad about my choice of hair and my health.
So she then apologizes. Then a month later when I take my hair out she ask me again what I want to do with my hair I tell her I want it cut. She goes on and tells me just grow it out and I'm not gonna pay money to get your hair braided if you keep cutting your hair. ( she doesn’t pay shit to get my hair done lmao my dad pays).
One reason she didn’t want my hair natural was that I have eczema and it affects my head so build-up will occur. Like ok, then I’ll wash it? My hair is dry makes it even worse. But she also wouldn’t buy many things for my 4b-4c hair because my sister needed it and because her hair was more manageable because it was less costly with looser curls. I think she honestly hates my hair because she talks about my dad's hair and my sisters and praises it like it's the best hair texture ever and mine is no comment.
Now flash forward to this week I go to my Aunt and she has lots to do. So she graciously offered to style my hair and I said yes. She essentially told me as well to cut my hair. if multiple people are telling me to cut my hair there is something wrong. I mean I think short hair is really cute and nothing is wrong with it,but she just seems to think black fem people can’t have short hair without looking masculine🤷🏾.
Thankfully she gave me some information on how to fix it because I looked fucking goofy before that. Also how to wash it in general because all I had was just shampoo and conditioner under my sink nothing else ☠️. Thankfully my dad said he was going to go to the store once we got back home so if you guys have any tips on what to buy that would be great 🫶🏾. Or any other advice as well.

2023.06.04 04:19 TicketLate9874 Will my hair grow back as thick as it was before I had locs?
I had thick, healthy hair all of my life even after years of heat damage, tension from protective styling, and dyeing. I’d just trim wait about a year then I had new healthy material to work with. However when I ended my 4 month loc journey by comb I was shocked to see how thin and fine my hair has become especially around the edges. And it seems to be growing very slowly. Granted I did retwist too often due to professional settings but I doubt four months is long enough to do sustainable damage to my hair follicles and they don’t look damaged I’m just missing a ton of hair. I’m just wondering if my hair will grow back to be as thick and healthy as it was before.

2023.06.04 02:32 TicketLate9874 advice for thin natural hair after combing out 4 months of locs
My hair has been thick all of my life even after heat damage, tension from protective styles, and back-to-back box dying. After I ended my short-lived loc journey my hair hasn’t been thinner and falling out this much. From the root to the tip my hair is thinner than ever especially around my edges and I’m not sure what to do. I trimmed off most of the bleach and dye that was left from months ago and overall my hair looks healthy (aside from the parts that are still bleached n dyed) it’s just not thick. This is really disappointing and I’m wondering if it’ll all grow back as thick as it was before since I’m only 18 years old.

Hey everyone!
So I've been natural all my life (im in my mid 20s) but only styling my hair by myself for the past 5 years. Whenever I used to go to the hairdresser and get mini twists, my hair would always loc up after a week and a half.
I want to try mini twists again but Im worried that shortly after installing them, that Ill have to take them down. Does blowdrying prevent this locing? Does anyone else have this problem?

2023.06.03 09:32 sakramentas ENTP vs Internal/External Locus of Control
Do you guys know what's your Locus of Control (External or Internal)?
I'm currently exploring how Locus of Control can affect personality traits and behaviours and it seems pretty interesting. Unfortunately, there aren't so many correlations between MBTI vs LoC out there, so I decided to get some help from GPT-4 and Wolfram Alpha/XArkiv Plugins for that, and it seems to give a clue towards "Introverted vs Extraverted" Ne Doms (
Notice that even though in some articles related to Locus of Control you will see them calling as "Extraversion and Introversion", they are completely different concepts from different branches of psychology and DO NOT mean the exact same thing as E/I in Jungian terms. One can be Exxx and have Internal Locus of Control and the other way around). Here's what we got :
Dominant Ne vs NeLC vs NeIC
Ne (Extraverted Intuition) Dominant Individual - Generic MBTI
- Proactive Exploration: Individuals with dominant Ne might be highly proactive in exploring their environment, actively seeking out new experiences, ideas, and possibilities. This exploration is often guided by their curiosity and interest in the world around them.
- Internal Generation of Ideas: While they are stimulated by the external world, their intuitive insights might be more internally generated. They might be able to come up with new ideas or possibilities even in the absence of immediate external stimulation.
- Comfort with Ambiguity: They might be comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, often seeing these as opportunities for creative exploration and idea generation.
- Divergent Thinking: They might have a highly divergent thinking style, able to see multiple possibilities in any given situation and often able to come up with novel solutions to problems.
- Adaptive Change: Individuals with dominant Ne might not only adapt to changes but also proactively seek out changes that stimulate their curiosity and interest. They are likely to be open to new experiences and enjoy exploring the unknown.
NeLC (Extraverted Intuition with External Locus of Control) Dominant Individual
- Reactive Adaptability: Individuals with dominant NeLC might be highly reactive to their environment, quickly adapting their plans or ideas based on new information or changes in their circumstances. They believe that their life is largely influenced by external factors, so they are likely to be flexible and adaptable in their thinking.
- External Dependence: Their intuitive insights might be heavily dependent on external factors. They might need a lot of external stimulation or feedback to trigger their intuitive insights. They believe that their success depends on external circumstances, so they are likely to be receptive to feedback from others.
- Sensitivity to External Changes: They might be particularly sensitive to changes in their environment and may be quick to pick up on new trends, patterns, or possibilities that emerge from these changes. They believe that their life is largely influenced by external circumstances, so they are likely to be alert to changes in their environment.
- Associative Thinking: They might have a highly associative thinking style, making connections between seemingly unrelated pieces of information based on external cues. They believe that their understanding of the world is influenced by external factors, so they are likely to be open to different perspectives and ideas.
- Reactive Change: Individuals with dominant NeLC might adapt to changes as they occur, reacting to new information or changes in their circumstances. They believe that their life is largely influenced by external circumstances, so they are likely to be responsive to changes in their environment.
NeIC (Extraverted Intuition with Internal Locus of Control) Dominant Individual
- Self-Directed Exploration: Individuals with dominant NeIC might be proactive in exploring their environment, but this exploration is often guided by their own internal goals or interests. They believe they have control over their own actions and the outcomes of their life, so they are likely to take initiative and act on their ideas.
- Internal Validation of Ideas: While they are stimulated by the external world, their validation of intuitive insights might be more internally driven. They might rely heavily on their own judgment and reasoning to evaluate the potential of an idea or possibility.
- Comfort with Personal Responsibility: They might be comfortable with taking personal responsibility for their actions and decisions. They believe that their success depends on their own efforts and abilities, so they are likely to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their mistakes.
- Independent Thinking: They might have a highly independent thinking style, able to generate and develop ideas independently of external input. They trust their own judgment and are confident in their ability to come up with innovative solutions to problems.
- Proactive Change: Individuals with dominant NeIC might not only adapt to changes but also proactively instigate changes when they believe it will lead to better outcomes. They believe they have the power to shape their own future, so they are likely to be proactive in implementing their ideas and bringing about change.
ENTP Examples
ENTP with an Internal Locus of Control:
- Ne (Extraverted Intuition): ENTPs with an internal locus of control might use their Ne to proactively seek out new possibilities and opportunities. They believe they have the power to shape their own future, so they are likely to be proactive in exploring different ideas and perspectives. For example, they might be the first to propose a new project at work or suggest a novel solution to a problem. Their strength lies in their ability to see potential where others don't, but they might struggle when they need to focus on the details or follow through with their ideas.
- Ti (Introverted Thinking): These individuals might use their Ti to analyze situations and make decisions based on their own understanding and logic. They believe that their success depends on their own efforts and abilities, so they are likely to trust their own judgment and reasoning. For instance, they might prefer to work independently on a task, trusting their own approach over established methods. Their strength is their logical and analytical thinking, but they might struggle when they need to consider the emotional aspects of a situation.
- Fe (Extraverted Feeling): ENTPs with an internal locus of control might use their Fe to build and maintain relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. They believe that they have the power to influence others and shape their social environment. For example, they might take the lead in resolving a conflict in their team, believing that they can influence the outcome. Their strength is their ability to connect with others and navigate social situations, but they might struggle when they need to manage their own emotions or deal with highly emotional situations.
- Si (Introverted Sensing): These individuals might use their Si to learn from past experiences and apply those lessons to their current situation. They believe that they can control their own destiny, so they are likely to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their mistakes. For instance, they might reflect on a past failure to improve their future performance. Their strength is their ability to learn from the past, but they might struggle when they need to adapt to new situations or deal with uncertainty.
ENTP with an External Locus of Control:
- Ne (Extraverted Intuition): ENTPs with an external locus of control might use their Ne to adapt to new situations and circumstances. They believe that their life is largely influenced by external factors, so they are likely to be flexible and adaptable in their thinking. For example, they might quickly adjust their plans when faced with a sudden change in their environment. Their strength is their adaptability and openness to new ideas, but they might struggle when they need to stick to a plan or follow a routine.
- Ti (Introverted Thinking): These individuals might use their Ti to understand and navigate the external world. They may rely more on external sources of information and be more receptive to feedback from others. For instance, they might prefer to work in a team, valuing the input and feedback of their colleagues. Their strength is their ability to understand complex systems and concepts, but they might struggle when they need to make quick decisions or trust their own judgment.
- Fe (Extraverted Feeling): ENTPs with an external locus of control might use their Fe to connect with others and build relationships based on empathy and understanding. They may be more sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, as they believe that their social success depends on external factors. For example, they might be particularly attuned to the mood of a group and adjust their behavior accordingly. Their strength is their ability to empathize with others and create harmony in their social environment, but they might struggle when they need to assert their own needs or deal with conflict.
- Si (Introverted Sensing): These individuals might use their Si to remember past experiences and anticipate future events. They may be more cautious and careful in their actions, as they believe that their life is largely influenced by external circumstances. For instance, they might prefer to stick to tried-and-true methods rather than experimenting with new approaches. Their strength is their ability to use past experiences to inform their current actions, but they might struggle when they need to think outside the box or deal with unexpected changes.
Obviously, that's not even an established concept and even though I gave a model as instructions to GPT, most of the traits were generated by the correlations across theories, so take that with a grain of salt. Though it seems to "make sense" to me somehow, especially the Divergent vs Adaptive thinking, Proactivity vs Reactivity, etc.
I've got a lot more content than that but I decided to make it shorter and add the main points. I might organize that in my Notion afterwards, so if anyone wants the link just send me a DM and I'll reply once it's there.
What do you guys think?

3000 /4 | 3000 | 1 | Same |
I want to know if the styles are in different locations. The location is indicated by the plant number. Style 1000 represents all sizes of item 1000 and they are all location in plant 1 which returns "Same". Item 2000 is stored in different plants based on the size and returns "Different" as a result.
How might you solve this issue? My coworker couldn't figure a solution, and while I was able to, I am not convinced my method was the most elegant.

2023.06.02 16:22 TheGromp Possible leaks and improvements?
So 10 days ago i read a post about possible leaks and all of them were spot on to the battle report yesterday, 2 of the leaks were not included but seeing as the others were right i wanted to share them as a strong possibility but take them with a grain of salt.
Noxious blight bringer - reroll advance and charge as well as contagion causes -2 to battle shock test of enemies.
LoC - full rerolls to hits and gives 1mw when he takes one damage.
Other than that ive realized my biggest issue with our current situation is the play style just doesnt seem fun to me at all. With a team whos rules dont synergize, are slow and not overly tanky, a big bad that lost his bite, and only being able to tie support characters to either Pm or termis not mixing for any type of variety i wanted to see what you guys thought on how we could have fun with the current set up. I was thinking maybe pox walker swarms in reserves while hoping for a resurrection stratagem? What do you plan on doing for fun seeing as winning wont be impossible but definitely a very uphill struggle?

2023.06.01 22:26 FLOWORTHY Only one loctician in my area. What should I do?
I only have access to one loctician in my area. Is starting locs a bad idea cause I have no where else to go but this one loctician? Her portfolio is good but I have never had anything done by her cause she’s the most expensive. My experience with the other “braiders” near me haven’t been very well. My hair is shoulder length. I usually rock wash and go’s and get my hair twisted/braided. But I was paying $100-$150 for two strand twist and they only last two weeks without looking frizzy. I want locs to help me save money but still have a “style”. I know I have to pay for pay for retwist every 6-8 weeks. This loctician near me charges $185 for “scalp treatment, retwist and two strand twist style”. I know it’s a process and it’s gonna look rough but I think I will love the result even if it takes a few years.
