I'll list some things that would be interesting from each of them.
Aemon Arryn: He would probably end up as lord of the Vale instead of Jeyne and that is a huge thing. A more unified Vale, with it probably moving much faster during the Dance and with no succession crisis afterwards if Aemon has children, which he should at that point. That's not even considering the fact that he might have his own dragon(although if I was actually writing a story about this character, I wouldn't give him one).
Maegelle Targaryen: The daughter of Maegor idea has SO much potential for drama! Jaehaerys might think he has to marry her to secure his reign, but he'd have to give up his love for Alysanne. Maegelle herself could struggle between loving and hating her father. Perhaps add a soft side to Maegor that was solely reserved for his only child. I'd also have her appearance be very unusual by having her have her father's height and with some deformities like maybe random patches of scales on her body. Her relationship with the rest of the Targaryen family would be amazing to dive into. I also imagine her as Jeyne Westerling's daughter, not Rhaena's.
Baelor Targaryen: Another BaeloBaelon that doesn't get the chance to be King. I think the most interesting part of this would be Baelor's feelings towards not being in the line of succession because of his father's decisions and I'd probably see him going through a phase in his teen years where he is not happy with his parents. In classic ASOIAF fashion, he has the big sad when his parents go boom with 90% of his family without getting to reconcile. I'd probably imagine him joining the Kingsguard at some point because he has no inheritance whatsoever and I don't imagine he'd have a great relationship with Aerys due to being half peasant so he wouldn't get a keep although I feel Aerys would like family on the Kingsguard.(He'll regret it when he starts looking for a Valyrian wife for his son though lmao). It would be nice for Aerys to focus a lot of his paranoia on Baelor, thinking that he wants to kill him and become King.
Jaehaerys Targaryen: Brother of Daeron the Good offers many possibilities. I think an interesting path would be to make him have a closer relationship with Daemon rather than Daeron and having to deal with the pain of having to fight one of his best friends in the name of his brother. Or another interesting thing could be this character acting as a balancing force to Bittersteel and convincing Daemon to not rebel and exploring the possibilities of a world where the Blackfyres never rebelled.

Looking for some advice from parents of boys...hate that I am making this gender specific but sadly this is the society we live in.
Everyone thought my little boy was a girl, so much so that I was (unbeknownst to me) also presuming. We are happy he is healthy (big lad) and everything is looking good. But after I has a think I realised three things:

1. I wanted a girl ( hate this about myself as my birth mother had gender disappointment so bad that she actually psychologically abused me)
   
2. I am scared of raising a boy in todays climate (politically and socially)
   
3. The name we picked was a name we loved (boys names are hard) but the girl name we had picked was solid, the boys name now is niggling at me as I am not 100%, maybe 75%.
   

Any advice for raising boys? I am feeling super thrown by all of this and I just want to be the best mum I can to my little human.

New to the quest 2 I bought a few games and had to return most of them because they're completely unplayable. Currently im trying to play no mans sky vr and the problems are as worse as theyve ever been but the other games i've tried are, Half lyfe alex, Ghost of tabor, Some warhammer vr games and they all suffer from this problem while. Hotdogs, horseshoes and handgrenades, Vr chat, and beatsaber are all perfectly fine. Any particular reason why every 10-30 seconds I get this horrible screen freeze and lag/rubberbanding? My computer while not totally top of the line is beefy enough and is vr ready

I dont know my mobo or processor off hand but i've never had problems with games until vr was introduced. I've gone into debug mode and set my console view to forward and I notice when the stuttefreezing happens I get something along the lines of " ERROR!: could not retreive round 2 framing quest 2" or something to that effect. Im connected to my computer with a cable in a usb3.0 slot and nothing i've done has made this stop.
Changing bitrate/encoding in debug mode Updating drivers Reinstalling occulus pc AS well i've reduced the graphical settings and its only seemed to make things worse nothing, is this just a super common thing with vr when you're trying to play games on steam?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russian forces of shelling Ukrainian emergency workers who are trying to rescue people from floodwaters caused by the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam.

Sean Darcy’s hamstring tear against Melbourne allowed Luke Jackson to take over against his old side while sparking a frenzy of speculation about the Dockers trading their No.1 ruckman.

Firstly I will state in advance I haven't completed the main story completely. I have gotten all the memories to get the Master Sword and three of the Dungeons. I have seen a bit more when my friend was streaming it as well. This is simply going to be my thoughts and opinions on the game as I've seen and experienced it so far as someone who loved BotW and Zelda as a Whole. This'll be quite lengthy as I went into a bit more detail then I initially planned as well as not being great at initially condensing my thoughts at times. There's a TLDR at the end with everything simplified with less details for those who want to skip what basically became a bullet point essay.
Firstly I will start with the positives.

• The return of varied Dungeons and Bosses. When I found this out I was actually excited to go do the dungeons and see what the bosses were. Though the divine beasts in BotW where interesting I was in the group who thought they were a bit lacking. The Return of Dungeons aren't perfect and aren't exactly like old dungeons but I feel it's still better, and more enjoyable, then the Divine Beasts personally.
• I absolutely adored the little caves you can find across the world and I adore the Depths and the challenge it brings. The Depths is such an interesting area and concept that adds so much more to the world and stuff to explore. Though I think there is a bit more they could have done with it but seeing as I wasn't expecting the depths at all I am not disappointed in the least.
• Seeing more enemies brought back from older Zelda games to add more enemy varity was such a needed addition and I'm so glad they did it. I was so excited when I first came across the likelikes and the Gleeok which seemed familiar but I didn't know from where and now I know it's from the first Zelda Game which is cool as heck. Then seeing the Gibdo as well. Was half expecting the Re-Deads as well but alas they didn't make the cut. It was just refreshing to have more enemies to come across.
• I quite enjoyed seeing where some of my favorite characters have gone or been up to since the events of BotW like Sidon and Riju. Even seeing Paya become chief as Impa has retired and just by chance running into Impa on my travels. I wish we got to see more of the characters we knew in BotW and more updates on how they're doing.
• The fact that your horses from your BotW save transfers over to your TotK save is just something I was pleasantly surprised by.
• The changes to bullet time where your stamina only drains when you fire instead of draining the second your in bullet time. On the point of stamina I appreciate the change of regaining a bit of stamina if you fall into water with no stamina. I also do appreciate the menu being a bit easier to get thru compared to BotW, though it's still not perfect but better and I appreciate that fact.

That's the main positives of things I just enjoyed about the game on its own as they are in the game. Now I want to talk about some things that I liked conceptually but not quite as much with how they were implemented into the game.

• Gannondorf. Was excited to see his full return and all the possibilities, even some of the early ideas people had of him not being fully evil even though that was never going to happen was still a fun concept. I knew he was going to be evil still and was interested to see where they were going to go with what I saw in the trailers. In game though it just wasn't anything even remotely to what I was hoping for while I wasn't expecting something as great as Wind Waker Ganon I hoped they were still going to do something interesting with him but no. Just pure evil becoming demon evil. Also that one face he made just what the fuck. Not the worst but just underwhelming to me personally.
• Gloom is awesome in concept and coming across it randomly out in the open on the surface when I was just trying to climb to a shrine is the kind of experience you can only get once without knowing about it in the first place. I love that defeating the arms makes Phantom Gannon appear. I don't like how it's implemented story wise and I don't like its name and I think that's where it falls short quite a bit for me personally. They treat it like it's something entirely separate from malice when it's basically a new form of Malice and calling it Gloom just doesn't really fit in my opinion. If they connected it more with Malice in the story and followed that threw line with it then that would have made it so much better in my opinion but as is how it's treated in story is just a miss for me.
• The Skylands or as they call them in game Sky Islands. When I first saw these introduced in the trailers I thought back to Skyward Sword and Skyloft and thought maybe we'll see some call back to the beginning of it all and get some hints or references to those events. Sadly that was not the case, at least not how I had initially expected, I will get more into the story elements later. All in All they weren't all that interesting in my opinion and some are just a pain to get too. The starting area is kinda interesting and how you can talk to Rauru at certain points but I don't feel as though it lived up to the Great Plateau personally.
• Zelda and the Past was a cool concept and idea they could have done so much more with it but in my opinion it just fell flat. Zelda felt so inconsequential and lacking in character thru all the memories and scenes you see of her and the past. The past itself felt like a waste as all it really did is retcon the Zelda lore, at least it seems so to me, and add another race as well as show that Gannon was always just selfish and evil. It would have been so much cooler if you had segments where you Played as Zelda thru the past as she tried to get home to Link and everyone else. Showing us a deeper look into the ancient race of the Zonai and their Culture. As well as give us more insight into what she's thinking and feeling as she's trapped separated from everyone. We don't even know how much passed between when she got stuck in the past and sacrificed herself. Instead we got very short disconnected snippets for the most part that don't tell us all that much and left me personally not caring about Zelda at all. Even longer or more cutscenes more closely connected would have been better but instead it just feels like Zelda was shafted so it was all on Link once again.
• I like the concept of what happens to Zelda in the end but how Zelda was handled in the game just makes this twist fall a bit flat for me personally.
• The Return of the Poes could have been so great but ended up to just be nothing more then another thing to spam A on. In previous games they were usually connected to some sort of enemy you had to best to collect and I think an Enemy Poe would have been such a great fit for the Depths but instead they're just a plentiful pickup that's all over the place in the Depths. Honestly just disappointing compared to what they once were.
• The Sage Abilities are cool in concept but in practice they can be a bit annoying and just don't live up to the Champion abilities in my opinion. I kind of like having companions to help fight with you but they do get in a way at times especially when you have to walk up to one to use they're ability and another can be in the way. I feel they could have been handled a bit better and aren't the worst but I personally prefer the ease of use of the Companion abilities.
• A more technical thing is the fuse ability. It's fun to mess around with and add elements to weapons to make them last longer but I don't think this is a perfect fix to weapon durability. Especially since it has replaced cool weapons that was in BOTW entirely and makes using elemental arrows much more annoying. In BotW you had Elemental Arrows that you selected and could use consecutively without having to reselect them. Now with the new fuse system you have to refuse stuff each and every time you want any sort of elemental arrow which disrupts the flow of gameplay. Sure it offers more variety in weapons and arrows technically but personally I preferred the old weapons and arrow systems for its simplicity.

Now onto the things I just straight up don't like and/or don't get within Tears of the Kingdom. If you've read up to this point then I really appreciate you taking the time to read everything.

• To add onto the point above with the fusing aspect of the game. The material system now that it's more important needed way more ways to sort thru things. Perhaps have categories of materials when you bring up the short menu or something so it's easier to find stuff on the fly instead of going thru a long list of random stuff from food to zonai devices. I just don't like how it's managed and handled.
• A small technical thing that I just don't understand is having to spam A to pick up Rupees and Poes where in BotW you just had to run over rupees. Why they made this change I have no idea especially now you have even more to pick up.
• Fuck you Zelda give me back my House.
• I greatly dislike calling the magic McGuffins "Secret Stones". I hate that so much it makes them seem so inconsequential.
• The lack of any of the Shikah stuff from BotW. Where are the Guardians, the Shrines, The Towers, the Divine Beasts, those pillars around the Castle? There's very little hint at the Guardians and that's it. There's no mention of what happened to them as far as I know. Like I can understand with the Gloom some of it may have gotten destroyed or lost but there was dozens of working and semi working and totally broken Guardians. Many many many shrines. Those huge ass towers. Those pillars by the castle. There is no reasonable explanation for it to all just disappear. It would have been so cool to see some functional guardians out working on your side to fight or maybe some in certain areas still affected and against you. Still come across ruins here and there but nope none of that really exist anymore with no good explanation on what even happened to it all.
• To add onto the previous point on things I just don't get and like in TOTK is the lack of continuity. Barely any mention of the Calamity, what you as Link went thru, and what Zelda went thru. There's plaques here and there that Zelda had made and some small mentions here and there but it seems like none of that happened. Barely anyone remembers you, even people the majority of players would surely have interacted with in BotW like Hetsu. No mention of the Divine Beast or anything. It feels like TotK is trying to be a sequel and it's own separate thing at the same time. They don't have to shove the events of BotW in your face but it would have been nice to see more continuity with the old Sheikah stuff and more people remembering you and remembering past events here and there. Even just the Sheikah part would have been enough honestly. Cause at the moment it seems the game is barely acknowledging the past game outside of reusing the map and reworking it.
• The story in itself is just not doing it for me. I don't care much about Zelda's part as I've stated in the previous section. There's just not enough to really latch onto. With BotW you are regaining your memories as Link so you see snippets from the past which makes sense they aren't completely all connected cause remembering memories can actually be like that. Yet it still gave us enough to go off of and gave Zelda way more personality and something to really care about. In this you aren't remembering anything you are getting memories without full context between them and Zelda in them feels less involved and not as fleshed out. We don't get to know the previous sages were at all or really get to know Rauru much or any of them really all that well. The story as a whole just doesn't work as well as the story in BotW in my opinion. At least what I've seen so far which is all the main memories and the one to get the master sword and what you see when the decedents get their stones.
• I'm just not a fan of the Zonai as a whole. I don't really care for their designs or the Zonai Aesthetic. I dislike that they turned Rauru into a Zonai when he was originally a Hylian. I preferred the Sheikah aesthetic of the shrines and towers and guardians/robots. I know the towers are Purah towers not Zonai but they are still kinda meh. In the trailers with the arm and certain aspects we were shown I intially thought back to the Twili and Twilight princess and thought some reimagining of the Twili would have been cool. I get that they may not have fit but honestly I feel the Zonai don't fit either.

Well I believe that is more or less everything and if you've read all the way to this point then just thanks, really. I appreciate it if you read this all cause I know this was a lot but I had a lot of thoughts. At the end of the day I still enjoy the game for what it is and still plan to complete it and a lot of it's extras side stuff. That being said doesn't mean I can't have critique or simply not care for certain aspects. For me there's a lot of potential in this game that I feel was missed out on among other things.

Things I really liked or loved were The return of Varied Dungeons and Bosses. I felt this was much needed in breath of the wild and I'm glad TotK have them. All the little caves you can find and explore and the wells to an extent as well. They made the world feel more interesting. I absolutely adored the Depths and the challenge it brings. I loved the return of more enemies bringing in more enemy variety. Being able to use my horses from BotW and the changes to Bullet Time.
Stuff I liked the concept of but didn't care for the exception of was Ganondorf as I feel like he was a bit weak characterization wise with missed opportunities. Gloom is awesome in gameplay and coming across it but how it's handled in the story was weak and should have just been an extension of Malice explicitly. Sky Islands the lands of missed opportunity as well as not being that interesting to explore. How Zelda and the Past was handled just feels underdeveloped, especially Zelda's role in most of it. The return of Poes is just a disappointing pick up with no interesting enemy attached like in the past. The sage abilities are cool in concept and it's kinda nice having pseudo companions but activating the abilities is annoying and discourages me from using them at times. The fuse ability taking away cool items and making elemental arrows more tedious to use also disrupting the flow of gameplay.
Parts of the game I just didn't really like at all like the lack of any continuity in either story or sheikah tech with all the sheikah tech basically vanishing without a trace or explanation to the limited or lack of mention of previous events. The cumbersome material system when going thru it for arrows or weapons on the fly. Having to spam A to pick up Rupees and Poes where in BotW you just ran over Rupees to pick them up. The Secret Stones being called Secret Stones. The Story as a whole is just lacking in my opinion and not as good as BotW in execution. Just not a fan of the Zonai as a whole. Also lastly Zelda stole my house and I want it back.

This is a line from The Simpsons movie i relate to while playing those crpgs.
Voice acting immeasurably enhances the experience and it's both great and sad that we have at least some vo in the game.
The sad part is because the performances are so good it's really annoying they are only less than about 5% of what actually is spoken.
I think minago regil and aruashele performances are especially noteworthy. And Camilia too because her spoken tone adds subtle hints about her story that isn't present in text. But minago is especially good because she faithfully potrays a range of emotions from a confident to raging to scared to compassionate to indifferent.
Games like original sin and disco Elysium were initially also text heavy but later released enhanced editions with full voice over. It could be great if this were to happen with owlcat games too.
Meanwhile i found a huge quality of life mod that uses build in tts to play the written text in game..dont expect any kind of emotional performance from this, but never the less it's a huge difference, especially with you can just continue playing while a note or a book you found are playing in the background.

OK, so this takes some explaining, but hopefully it’s worth your time. Spoilers, obvs.
In 2021, Leos Carax released his debut English language movie, written by Ron and Russell Mael of Art-Pop legends Sparks and starring Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard and Simon Helberg. It received great acclaim, winning several awards, but also left many cold. It’s such an odd film, but there’s a fantastic explanation as to why it’s such a difficult movie.
There are two stories running in parallel. One is that of the comedian, the opera singer and their gifted child. The other is the story of how the filmmakers wrote this movie. It’s an allegory for its own creative process.
The character Annette is the movie Annette, and her three parents are different elements of the screenwriters’ creativity. Henry McHenry, played by Adam Driver, is Sparks’ humour and pop sensibility. The accompanist, played by Simon Helberg, is their musical talent. Ann Defrasnoux, played by Marion Cotillard, is their genius.
These characters’ fates determine what kind of movie this will be, and it doesn’t end well for any of them.

For those that don’t know, Sparks have made funny and catchy pop music for almost 50 years, influencing artists as wide ranging as Bjork, Beck, Sex Pistols, Erasure and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, making great music to this day yet somehow have remained obscure.
Leos Carax said this about this about his collaboration with Sparks: “We had 80 songs and only kept 42. There were many versions of every song, depending on where the story was going.”
So during the 8 years of development, pieces were added, removed and altered, and this concept is embedded into the movie itself. If you look at the quotations, additional music and archival movie footage used throughout, something interesting connects it: there’s an uncanny number of references to creative works that were changed into something different, moving it beyond from the artist’s initial vision. Just like ‘Annette’.
*‘The Crowd’ by King Vidor This movie from 1928 is used during a montage of Ann’s performances. Its original release was delayed because the movie studio was displeased at the lack of a happy ending. At their insistence, seven alternative happy endings were filmed.
‘Till the clouds roll by’ While Henry is babysitting, the TV shows a musical number from this 1946 Judy Garland movie. The song, ’D’ye love me’, was filmed by a different director (her husband Vincente Minnelli) but then cut from the final movie.
‘Oceans’ Footage is used from this French nature documentary which was distributed by Disney Pictures. The final cut had 20 minutes of violent footage removed to make it palatable to a young audience.
‘Rogue one’ We see this playing at a cinema while Henry rides past on his motorcycle. The Star Wars spin-off had extensive reshoots with new scenes, including a new soundtrack and ending.
‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ There are several visual parallels between ‘Annette‘ and the first feature-length Disney movie. It was originally conceived as a comedy piece, with a continuous run of jokes from the dwarfs. In later drafts, scenes were removed in order to focus more on Snow White and the Evil Queen, and less on the comic relief.
‘The Night of the Hunter’ The shot of Ann’s body falling to the depths of the ocean calls back to this 1955 American Thriller. The screenplay was by James Agee, based on his own book, but director Charles Laughton rewrote most of the script without credit. This was partly because the story features an evil preacher, highly controversial at the time, so the changes were made so that he would appear unordained.
‘Bluebeards Castle’ This opera was completed in 1911, but not taken seriously because of its single act structure. It was modified in 1912 and a new ending added in 1917.
‘National Brotherhood Week’ by Tom Lehrer This is the song that goes “and the Catholics hate the Muslims, and the Muslims hate the Catholics”. The musical satirist would often update the jokes in his songs at live performances.
‘Symphony No. 2’ by Gustav Mahler This was composed reusing elements of the composer‘s first symphony,
‘Otello’ by Verdi This was written between 1879 and 1887. Many drafts exist between the libretto first being written and its completion, with notes and letter published showing the evolution of the work as the music demanded changes to the text and vice versa.
‘Carmen’ by Bizet This was altered several times during the rehearsal for the first performance. As such, the vocal score from March 1875 shows significant changes from the version of the score sold to the publishers, which is in turn different to the orchestral score. Nobody knows which version was originally performed.
‘Madam Butterfly’ by Puccini First completed in 1904, this was withdrawn after a disastrous premiere. In total Puccini wrote five versions of this opera.
‘Norma’ by Bellini When composing this opera, Bellini wanted it to be performed by star soprano Giuditta Pasta. To entice her, he offered to retouch or even change the character completely to suit her.
‘Symphony No. 4’ by Brahms The debut performance was a scaled-down preview played on two pianos to a small audience of friends. Despite going on to be a classic, it was panned by the audience, with critic Eduard Hanslick describing it as “being given a beating by two incredibly intelligent people”.
‘La traviata’ by Verdi This opera was envisioned in a contemporary setting, but the authorities insisted it be set in the past.
‘Mother Courage and her Children’ by Bertold Bretch This 1941 play includes the quotation “War is like love, it always finds a way”, which likely serves as inspiration for ‘True love always finds a way’. For it’s second production in 1949, Brecht revised the play to make Mother Courage less sympathetic, because despite rave reviews, he felt that critics misunderstood the piece.*
These works aren’t necessarily being evoked because of their stories or themes, but because of how they were changed. Leos Carax and Sparks are showing us that the movie we’re watching is inextricably tied to the method used in creating it. In other words, it’s not just an incidental bit of trivia that ‘Annette’ had several drafts, it’s core to the understanding of the movie.
With the release of the Unlimited Edition of the soundtrack album, Sparks gave some insight into a previous draft, and it helps us to better understand the final movie. It includes a handful of demos and unused songs which show a very different trajectory for Henry McHenry. Instead of destroying his career by offending his audience, he’s instead met with indifference because falling in love and having a child has taken away his edge as a performer. We therefore know that Henry’s comedy routines were rewritten, and this fact can be used to explain a lot.
The title of Henry’s show is The Ape of God. This is a term for Satan that originated from the Middle Ages, meaning that he impersonates (or apes) godly things to make people do evil. Encyclopaedia Britannica describes it as “an evil who attempts to imitate God through spurious, malicious creations that he interpolates for the divine creations”. The word “interpolate” means “to insert something (of a different nature) into something else”, which is what the screenwriters are doing by reworking these scenes. The Henry McHenry that we see isn’t the character as originally envisioned - he’s a rewrite, and this explains the uncomfortable anti-comedy of his routines.
One of Sparks’ defining characteristics is humour, with a distinctive style of wit that’s been a constant presence in their music throughout the decades. Their songs feature colourful characters and clever pop-culture references, but with ‘Annette’ they go in the opposite direction, filling it with sadness at every turn. If you look back through Sparks’ catalogue of songs, finding something without an element of joy or humour is rare. They’re a “fun” band, but that element of fun is mostly missing in ‘Annette’ - this is fundamentally different to the Sparks we’ve seen before.
This was explained by Leos Carax when asked how the movie was reshaped from Sparks’ original screenplay.
“The only changes I made were with the writing. It was only a storyline without characters. The brothers live in this Sparks bubble, which is pop fantasy. There was a lot of irony. Irony in a cinema is a danger, I think. It has a tendency to make everything less crucial, less real. It’s a bit too easy for cinema, especially today. I had to make that irony into something else. We had to really create Henry as a character.”
Here’s the theory: Ron and Russell wrote a comedy that was true to Sparks, then employed Leos Carax to impose restrictions on the rewriting process. These were the changes necessary for the band to achieve their dream of making a true art house tragedy.

My gf (20F) and I (21M) met through a friend of mine (20F) who I had been living with for just under a year, rather not use names so I’ll just call my friend Rachel. I saw a post Rachel made of the two of them having a few drinks, and I thought she looked cute and so we started talking and pretty much hit it off straight away. We met up and shortly after I asked her out and we started dating, even though we didn’t know each other long it just felt right and I felt connected to her. My gf had told me she had trust issues because she had been cheated on in the past. At the time I didn’t have an issue with it as I believed myself to be trustworthy and that I would gain her trust throughout our relationship. I moved out and started living with some other friends of mine, with my gf not living too far away, so we would see each other often. Our relationship was one built on good communication as I thought it’d be best to be able to be comfortable to talk about any issues so we could work together through any problems. Other than a few arguments here and there we had a very close and connected relationship. A few months down the line and It was at this point where I didn’t feel like my gf trusted me still. It hurt to have her so distrusting of me when I had never done anything untrustworthy, it felt like all the distrust from her previous relationship was being held against me for no reason. In my head relationships are built on trust and it didn’t feel like we had that. I brought it up that I had issues with her, saying I felt like she didn’t trust me and that it really hurt and I couldn’t keep going if things would continue like this. We were both very upset and we spoke it through and decided to use time apart to think about things until we saw each other next. When we next saw each other my gf was like a whole different person, saying she had taken into account things I had said and was ready to make things work. At the time I was very unsure,because it had only been 2 weeks and I didn’t think it was enough time for her to have made enough of a change. The only way I can describe it now is it felt like she had checked out of the relationship and was on auto pilot. We met up a few times and kept speaking things through. Now this is where my friends come into the story. A friend of mine (21M), we’ll call Craig, was going in and out of a relationship with Rachel over the past few months and since there last breakup, he had spoken about realising his mistakes and wanting to try again with Rachel. Being friends with both of them, I had heard from Rachel about how upset she was and how she needed time to move past it before she could think about speaking to him again. Using an experience I had previously, I gave some advice to Craig, using this experience as the framework. My gf was also friends with Craig and Rachel and so I told her about it and we went through it, but she started picking apart the experience I mentioned expressing that I should never get into a relationship if I feel this way and that she never would have dated me if she knew this. This comment was one of the things that made me think my gf had basically given up on the relationship, but still really caring about her I thought maybe we could still make things work. It wasn’t until later that week before going out for my birthday when playing most likely to with friends, she said I was most likely to cheat out of everyone there. This really hurt me as it basically said that she thought I would cheat on her. With everything we were going through at the time, this was the final straw for me as I couldn’t do a relationship without trust. The next day I went over to my gfs to break up with her, but a little after I started to speak she asked “so are u breaking up with me?” And she told me to leave and bring all her stuff back, that being the end of it. I didn’t speak with either Rachel or Craig about this, and it didn’t come up until a party a few weeks later. At my housemates party, my now ex was invited as she was friends with my housemate, however she wasn’t initially going to come until I reached out to her to let her know I had no problems with her being there. I didn’t want her to be left out because of me, so we spoke about it and she said she would come but just wasn’t sure if I would be uncomfortable with it. Rachel and my ex were some of the first to arrive and immediately her demeanour was very different from her messages. She was giving me dirty looks and was obviously not very comfortable. Rachel said to me whilst we was sitting together that “she didn’t agree with what I did but didn’t want to bring that up now and hoped we’d have a good night.” This immediately rang alarm bells as it made no sense. She was obviously referring to my ex but all I did was break up with her and wasn’t even able to explain why to my ex. Rachel had never spoken to me about it but I had known that she had been there over the past few weeks to comfort my ex, so I was wondering what had been said about it. Later that night my ex, Rachel and myself got into an argument and I left the house to cool off. Rachel repeatedly showed a care for my ex’s emotional state but never for mine, which really hurt and showed that she had clearly picked sides. The next day I went to Rachel’s to speak about the previous night and we managed to squash our disagreement. However after this night Rachel would continue to distance herself more and more from me over the coming months. After 3 months had past I reached out to ask if Rachel had been distant from me for a reason and we got into another argument. At this time Rachel and Craig were once again dating but they didn’t tell me about it until I found out and asked them. Rachel and I pretty much stopped talking after our last argument as I felt like she had been distant and she tried to shift the blame to me. After this Craig also stopped interacting with me and seemed to be avoiding me. Rachel and Craig have now both removed me from most of their private socials and we never speak anymore and I lost two of my close friends all because I broke up with my gf. My ex is now still friends with Rachel and Craig and is always with them and I haven’t spoken to them in months. A small part of me wishes I could know what happened and why everything happened the way it did, but at the same time my friends and family keep telling me that there isn’t any point wasting your energy on them. I am trying to come to terms with it but in half a year I’ve lost 3 very close people in my life, and the more I think about the situation the more it upsets me. Either way I’m no longer in the same classes as Craig and none of my friends speak with my ex or Rachel anymore so I’m having to slowly move on and just forget about them.

TLDR = why do almost all black guys on Grindr have no face pic no matter where in the country I go.
Okay trigger warning, but I am trying to educate myself here and maybe other people too. Recently I spoke to a black gentleman on Grindr who had no profile pic and like no profile description. after chatting for a bit I got to ask him a question that had been on my mind for quite a while now, “Why do nearly zero black men on Grindr have profile pics?”
He replied to me something along the lines of “I’ve experience heavy racism on Grindr and in lgbt.” But didn’t indulge me any further really which was a bit of a surprise because he was so nice and we were actually having meaningful, non-sexually charged discussions prior (I come across a few guys once in a blue moon that just wanna chat with another guy and be emotional and I actually love those guys because I’m chatty myself 😂). This guy was saying how he never gets laid or hit up by guy interested in dating in our city because he is discriminated against but I think he was uncomfortable indulging further in that. I brought up how I’m Mexican American (from Mexico) and while I have never experienced racism on Grindr or in lgbt myself, I acknowledge it exists and didn’t know how impactful it was to a black male.
I still feel like my question wasn’t really answered and i dropped it but I wanna know. Also the city I live in is very mixed. I would say almost evenly white hispanic and black. If anything his comment gave me more questions. If he says he wasn’t getting hit up at all does that mean he wasn’t interested in other black men or only perused Hispanic and/or white guys? If so why limit yourself? Also do a decent amount of gay black men not mess around w other gay black men or not support each other? I used the following commands to solve this problem, but it didn't work:

I know that the last command cannot be executed automatically and I followed the instructions from Microsoft, but it also didn't work.
But when I decide to validate my certificate with openssl, I get the following message:

openssl verify dotnet-devcert.crt CN = localhost error 18 at 0 depth lookup: self signed certificate error dotnet-devcert.crt: verification failed 

I think the problem is in openssl because it doesn't validate the certificate.
Please help me solve the problem, I don't want to install Windows again. I have already decided for too long to switch to Linux

I used the following commands to solve this problem, but it didn't work:

dotnet dev-certs https --clean dotnet dev-certs https --trust 

I know that the last command cannot be executed automatically and I followed the instructions from Microsoft, but it also didn't work.
But when I decide to validate my certificate with openssl, I get the following message:

openssl verify dotnet-devcert.crt CN = localhost error 18 at 0 depth lookup: self signed certificate error dotnet-devcert.crt: verification failed 

I think the problem is in openssl because it doesn't validate the certificate.
Please help me solve the problem, I don't want to install Windows again. I have already decided for too long to switch to Linux

Im not asking for advice im just venting, theres nothing i can do about this until i see my husband when he gets back friday night.
My (23f) husband (25m) works for this guy who ill call "bill". Bill is a sleazy millionaire who got his money from working in Hollywood and is now trying to get famous in the live music sector. He also treats the live music sector like Hollywood. Aka work 20+ hours for pennies a day until you make it big and everyone should have that same mentality, which, if you have ever worked in live music, is not how it works.
Bill also cant keep crew. Any kind of crew and especilally not skilled crew. Currently bill only has 2 people working on this event stage regularly. My husband and another guy ill call "Paul". They have a difficult time finding crew to help set up, run and, strike the set and are constantly running a skelelton crew which leaves my husband to do everything because "the show must go on". He regularly pulls 18+ hour days working for this sleaze and gets paid a flat day rate despite working basically by himself when the set needs ~8 people in total to run. He worked his ass off for a gig bill got at a local highschool grad party and only got paid half of what he invoiced bill.
Bill also micromanages to the point of constantly making my husband and paul behind schedule. Halting any work until they try it his way and it inevitably doesnt work because bill doesnt know what hes doing. I would describe him as someone who aspires to run a business like elon musk: work the skeleton crew to the bone and then move on to the next cheapest labor. Taking any shortcuts he can and violating labor rights. Bill even sent two PI's to harass a former employee who filed for unemployment and Bill didnt want to pay unemployment. The former employee left the state to avoid harassment from the private investigators. He does not have workers comp so if my husband gets injured because of bills abusive demands, we would have to pay for our life on my income alone, not to mention medical bills.
Anyways, Bill is pushing for his idea to take off. And because of that hes scheduling gigs all the time. My husband has worked on and off for him for three years. My husband is a freelance audio engineer and a really good one at that. His talent is well beyond his years and he consistently undercharges and undervalues himself due to his age. His coworkers and other freelancers he works with tell him that hes going to be able to go on tour easily and he actually has the talent to make it big. His coworkers tell me this too whenever they see me. He actually just secured a really awesome gig in LA that hes working on for the next two weeks.
And that brings us to our problem: hes in LA mon-fri and then saturday he is working 24 straight hours for bill. This wouldnt be a problem if he didnt already have a gig scheduled every sunday at a local church from 8am - 12pm. This church pays him really well despite the little amount of work he does for them so we keep it around. The biggest issue with this 24 hour gig is that they have virtually no crew to run this. Which means, again, that my husband will be the only one doing all of the work. My husband tells bill and paul all the time that he needs other people and they continue to make empty promises and continue to fuck him over. Bill and paul dont do any of the heavy lifting either they just bark orders at my husband. This leaves my husband so beyond exhausted that he becomes a shell of himself. Its genuinely heartbreaking to watch. This happened the last time he worked for bill for an extended period of time too. He has 3 crew to set up and 2 to strike a set that requires 8 people to be able to pull this off in 24 hours.
My husband says he continues to work for bill because he has really high tech equipment which my husband likes to learn and use. Bill does not have a good reputation in our area and i keep telling him that by continuing to work for bill, it will hurt his own reputation. Something my husband cares a lot about. Ive brought all of this up to him as well and im met with resistance. I dont know why either, bill is horrible and will only harm my husband in the long run. He KNOWS all of this too. I dont keep my opinions about bill to myself. Especially since my husband has never said one nice thing about Bill. Money is not an issue because my husband is constantly turning down gigs because his schedule is full 7 days a week.
Anyways thanks for reading my rant. No I wont leave my husband so dont even start on that. He is a wonderful, kind, generous man and he allows people to take advantage and abuse that which frustrates me to no end watching him get abused at work constantly. I feel like im over reacting and he says he needs to "slog it through the trenches" in order to get anywhere but bill has no connections or anything that will help him in the long run because bill keeps burning bridges with his "my way or the highway" attitude. I hate bill with all my heart and i hope he fails miserably with his "dream" and it leaves him feeling depressed and sad.

Trigger Warning: Stillbirth, miscarriage, IVF
I'll start with the old cliche - long time lurker, first time poster. So thank you to anyone who reads and/or comments, and hopefully my current story may help in some way. I have just added anything that may be relevant.
I'm a 37 year old Australian female, with a history of endometriosis and cysts that ran up and down my the outside of my fallopian tubes. Unfortunately, those cysts started twisting, turning blue and bursting, which caused horrific and debilitating pain. I was in my early 20's when this first started occurring. This led me on a six year journey (unfortunately I encountered a lot of dismissive doctors - 'It's just period pain'), before an incredible gynaecologist organised a laparoscopy for me immediately, and she discovered extensive endometriosis and the cysts. She lanced and burnt her way through like an epic warrior, inserted a Mirena, and my quality of life improved instantly with no complications.
Fast forward to me at 32 and TTC with my partner. Fortunately, it only took us 3 months to see those glorious double lines on a pregnancy test. I had a blissful (and quite ignorant) pregnancy, welcoming our daughter at 39 weeks with an uncomplicated, spontaneous vaginal labour. My daughter was quite light at 2.6kg, but long at 51cm. I remember the midwife inquiring as to whether I smoked whilst looking at the placenta. I used too, but hadn't in 8 years. She shrugged and being that I had just laboured and we had a healthy, albeit light, baby in our arms, we didn't think anything else of it. My daughter thrived and is now a four year old ball of gorgeousness that we are so grateful for.
When Number 1 was about 16 months, we conceived our second child - very quickly might I add! One weekend of fun and the deal was done. Lucky us! Once again, a very unremarkable, straightforward pregnancy. Until it wasn't. At 35.5 weeks, I went to the the hairdresser, returned home and realised I hadn't felt her kick for a while - she was another little girl. Number 2 was much more of a kicker and squirmer than Number 1, so I knew something wasn't right. Later that night at the hospital, those horrendous, life-altering words were said, 'There is no heartbeat'. I delivered her vaginally, a far more physically gruelling and emotional labour than my first. Unfortunately, we have never had any definitive answers as to why there was a partial placenta abruption - her autopsy revealed that she was utterly perfect anyway. She was the same weight and height as her sister at 35.5 weeks. It was discovered that I have a prothrombin mutation that makes my blood a little more prone to clotting. However, we've been told that this condition can either affect pregnancies or not (hence Number 1 doing so well). The strongest theory is that perhaps a clot did disrupt the umbilical cord/placenta, but no one can say for sure with the lack of evidence.
Those of you who are sadly in the baby loss club (but don't want to be of course) will know what that grief journey looks like after the rug has been pulled out from under you and your life splinters into this new world thay you have to suddenly adapt too. I won't get too bogged down here except for this - I see you. I see your baby. I see your loss and I am so sorry you have to live the rest of your life with that complexity of emotions and longing for your little one. You are an incredible human being and I send you all the virtual love 💜
Nearly six months after our loss, we began trying again. After 5 months and no positive, we turned to IVF. I was aware of my age and I didn't want to wait after we had previously been so lucky with two quick conceptions. The fertility doctor had me do a HyCoSy scan to check my tubes, before we began an IVF cycle. Low and behold, that scan was therapeutic as we become pregnant naturally on my next cycle! We were ecstatic that we didn't even have to begin IVF but also incredibly trepidatious of being pregnant again in general. As part of my stillbirth interventions for pregnancy, I immediately started injecting Clexane (a blood thinner) to avoid any potential clotting issues.
At 8 weeks, I began violently miscarrying at work. Due to the Clexane, there was a huge amount of blood and a lot of very large clots. Over the course of 2½ weeks, I was in and out of hospital every couple of days with extremely heavy bleeding. At the end of that period, I finally passed my baby and had a D&C. Salt to the wound is an understatement. The anger, grief, devastation, guilt, etc., of having to endure another loss after we had already been so awfully robbed, was just horrendous. Our fertility doctor let us know the 1 in 4 figures for miscarriage and that it was likely a chromosomal issue. Great.
Two months later, I had another laparoscopy to remove a small amount of endometriosis. Two months after that, I was injecting hormone stimulants for my first round for an IVF egg retrieval. We got 7 eggs, 4 fertilised, and 2 blastocysts but they could not be biopsied for chromosomal issues unfortunately. Our doctor believes that the low egg count could be endometriosis related, as my egg reserves are average for my age. Frustratingly, our egg transfer was delayed due to the Christmas break, then we had Covid for a second time and it was delayed even further. Finally, we had the transfer - one blastocyst did not survive the thawing process, the other failed to implant.
After reading even more, eating even better than I did before, starting reformer pilates three times a week and taking all the vitamins/supplements (for him too), I recently had another egg retrieval: 6 eggs, 1 fertilised, 1 blastocyst that could not be biopsied. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Here we are, the healthiest we have ever been, no caffeine, no booze and we get such a poor fertilisation rate? It has perplexed the fertility doctor and lab techs. We have talked about interventions for next time (adding calcium to the culture medium), if this little eggo doesn't a) survive the thawing process, b) doesn't implant, c) implants but miscarries, or d) implants but ends up stillborn - I sincerely hope not for those latter two.
So this is where I am currently at - prepping for my second egg transfer that should hopefully happen next week or early the week after. I guess I have written this essay (apologies about that!), to seek any input really - does anything in my story resonate with yours? Tales of hope? The reality of hope being stomped on? Have you been down the IVF path and it didn't work? It's only been two and half years since Number 2 was taken from us and we started this whole journey, but I'm exhausted and feeling a but indifferent about it all. It honestly feels like we have so much more bad outweigh the good, that how on earth could this little eggo even make it?
