2023.06.09 16:37 OriginalPNWest PNWest's Rotten Restaurant Report (6/9)
Here we go again, another Friday and time for another Rotten Restaurant Report. This is just about the nicest time in Central Oregon. Mild temperatures, no more yard debris burning, no wildfires. What's not to love
OTHER THAN THE POLLEN ? I hope that you all had a great week. Now let's get down to the business at hand - What have the health inspectors found this week?
The BEST - These are the places that scored perfect 100s. These places are really doing a good job at keeping their kitchens clean. The places that score a perfect 100 are really going all out to do things right and they deserve your support.
AlpenGlow Adventure Catering at The Capitol Kitchen (f), Bend (5/25)
Dilly Dally Coffee Co. (f), Bend (5/24)
Dough Nut (The) (Midtown), Bend (5/24)
Coffee Republic (mob), Bend (5/24)
Pro-Vend Services (V), Redmond (5/23)
Maki Maki Sushi (wh), Bend (5/22)
Raganelli's Take & Bake Pizza, Bend (5/22)
JoJo's Cafe (f), Bend (5/22)
The WORST SCORERS: Now comes everyone's favorite part of the report - the list of Rotten Restaurants who scored worse than 85. I don't post any place that scores 85 or above even if they were the worst inspections for a particular week. 85 is a solid B and I don't want to shame them.
Redmond Coffee Company (SW 21st), Redmond, Score: 52 (5/23)
I'm going to stick these identifiers here so that when you see stuff like (mob) and (wh) you'll have some idea of what they are talking about. I'm not positive about all of these but they're probably pretty close. If you see anything I've missed or I guessed wrong please let me know.
e - fee exempt
mob - mobile
wh - warehouse
rp - recreational park
f - fixed position?
com - commissary
tf - traveler's accommodation
L - Limited Service
If you have time on your hands and want to check out the county inspection site here's the link - https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/or-deschutes-county
It's a very nice community resource. Kudos to the county for making it this easy to check up on things.
Well that's all I got for this week. Time to say goodbye and leave you with a little tune.
Here you go....

2023.06.09 16:35 ScottishVixen AIBTS to be hurt my sister told her kids I’m lazy?
TLDR: My sister told her kids if I was using a wheelchair because I’m lazy then laughed about it.
I (38f) have a sister (36f) with two kids (nephew 9 & nice 5). We don’t have much in common and while we get on fine now and I love her dearly, she was completely horrible to me right up until I left home for uni. In fact in the first month I was away, she called me a couple of times just to pick fights because that was the only way she knew how to communicate with me. She always knew just what buttons to press to hurt me most.
I’ll admit, she doesn’t have it easy. She’s a single mum and her ex isn’t as involved a parent as any of us would like. She works hard and is constantly on the go, taking the kids to their activities and rarely has any time to herself.
But I haven’t had it easy either. I don’t think she (or anyone else in my family because I don’t like to talk about it) realises how emotionally abusive my marriage was. And for the past 6 years I’ve been physically disabled. I have one rare condition that causes painful abscess clusters, fibromyalgia, and I’m currently being investigated for rheumatoid arthritis. I’ve had to move back in with our parents because I can’t afford or physically manage the upkeep of a place of my own.
For years I’ve used one or two crutches to get around the house and a rolling walker for most of the time outside. But that on its own is becoming less feasible. My mobility has worsened in the last year, particularly my walking. I’ve been needing two crutches more often and my world has been shrinking. The final straw came when I was at a hospital appointment, using my walker and my legs just gave up. I needed wheeled to my appointment by one of the hospital volunteers and I was so embarrassed. I came home and ordered my first manual wheelchair.
It’s been life changing. For the first time since before the pandemic I was able to browse at the nearby shopping centre instead of just picking up my prescription and leaving. Instead of spending money on a taxi to get to appointments with no parking nearby I can park further away and wheel myself. I went to a museum exhibit with my dad that I really wanted to see but wouldn’t have managed. But it’s not easy. I’m using my arms in a completely different way and contending with my town’s terrible pavements. It’s actually really good exercise for my upper body.
When I first mentioned on the phone to my sister that I’d ordered it she said, “I hope you won’t become reliant on it,” and “You’d better not expect us to push you everywhere.” I asked her if she would say I was reliant on my glasses and explained it was just another tool in my mobility toolbox, I’ll always use the one most appropriate to the day/location/activity and the goal was to be more independent, not less and she seemed satisfied. I’ve spent ages rigging up a system to attach my crutches so they don’t fall off and I can get out of it at any time.
Well when they were visiting the other weekend she came in giggling and asked the kids to give me their “drawing”. In big letters it said “Auntie is your wheelchair for being lazy?” She was full blown laughing as I read that. I hid how much it hurt me but explained what I had above in a kid-friendly way. But later I cried in my room about it. I know the kids wouldn’t have come up with the “lazy” thing without her.
I’ve had a conversation about how much the chair is helping me but how much work it is with her bf (it came up naturally and he wasn’t there when they gave the “picture” to me) so hopefully some of that will be passed on. And I don’t intend on saying anything to her because I know she’ll get defensive. I just want to know if being hurt is normal or if this is just something I’ll have to get used to when using my chair? All my other interactions around it have been so positive this has really thrown me.

Whether you’re in Stage 1 of building your empire; or ready to scale the sh*t out of it; we’ll walk you through the exact CRM systems you need to confidently double down on your marketing and enrollment efforts; knowing that every prospect that enters your ecosystem is well accounted for and given the best chance to convert. Highlights Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about implementing an intelligent, growth-minded CRM that your current business coach was too afraid to show you. How to create a pro-level pipeline that gives you “real time” insight as to where every lead is in your enrollment process; allowing you to forecast revenue, identify opportunities; and finally feel like a real business. Why “lead-scoring” isn’t just for enterprise-level companies, but a must for reaching out to potential customers in the moment they’re most ready to receive it. Why configuring your sales and enrollment systems the way we show you; will give you crystal clarity over every lead in your business; allowing you to make smarter, more data-informed decisions rather than feeling lost, overwhelmed, and acting on impulse. MODULE 3 Automated Conversion Ecosystem #1 (ACE 1): The Enchanting First Encounter Back in 2009, subscribing to an email list meant something. In 2023. urm. a bit less so. In many cases, it’s a response to FOMO (of closing a landing page and not getting a lead magnet). The end result; prospects are more oversubscribed and under-committed than ever. That’s why, In Module 3, you’ll be given two powerful playbooks for creating an enchanting first encounter that instantly sets you above any other coach or course creator they may be following or considering along with you. Highlights 2 next generation “top funnel” conversion playbooks for accelerating trust, encouraging engagement, and amplifying resonance. The simple, 45 second protocol to do immediately when a new subscriber signs up that has been proven to boost opens, clicks and conversions by up to 300% How to seamlessly integrate your fb group with your email CRM to create a holistic view of EVERY potential customer in your business Why your traditional “welcome sequence” is dead, and doing little-to-nothing to ascend your lead; and what to do instead to accelerate the transformation from Point A to Point Buyer Why normal “engagement posts” do nothing but satisfy the algorithm; and how to create “ROI-Rich engagement experiences” that help you segment your list while synching valuable voice-of-customer data into your CRM. How to use Social Singularity™ to create a seamless experience between your facebook group and your email list. MODULE 4 Automated Conversion Ecosystem #1 (ACE 2): The Ascension Amplifier The second Automated Conversion Ecosystem you’ll be working through overlaps with what’s traditionally referred to as “the middle of the funnel”. A murky, purgatory state that’s often the longest, most confusing, and challenging to do effectively. Many coaches and course creators have a bulk of their email list who will sit in this “in-between” state for 2, 3 or even 5 years before either becoming a customer or unsubscribing from the list. With the strategies and playbooks you’ll implement in Module 4, you’ll help “pre-customers” cross that chasm much faster; and come to clearer, more confident, and more empowering decisions about you and your program. 2023.06.09 16:31 Express-Employment62 Finding Purchase Episode 1: A Sliver of Chaos - Recap
The story starts, as so many seem to, in an inn. But this is not just any inn, but the cleanest, friendliest inn in all of Emon - The Bright Vagabond - owned and operated by a halfling named Tarlan Hillspark. As he prepared to open for the day, a young baker's apprentice named Sliver entered nervously and was gestured to a seat at a large round table marked 'Reserved'. Soon, others gathered; a tall half-elf named Garrick with a symbol of the Raven Queen on his shield, a cheerful gnome named Ashrina dressed in bright colors, and a lanky humanoid called Kid, who wanted nothing more than a fresh cup of bean juice. All had received a mysterious summons from an organization known as The Clasp; though Sliver was concerned about this development, the others all seemed unsurprised to be there.
As they gathered, a woman entered who seemed far too frightened for the bright surroundings and was introduced as Dr. Dannell, who they had been instructed to meet. The group excused themselves upstairs to less spacious, but more private, surroundings - Ashrina's room at the Vagabond. There, the doctor admitted to being terrified of her benefactors, but with no other place to turn for help. A disgraced researcher in antiquities, she recently found a large stone on a dig - an egg, she claims, spawned by an eldrich horror. No one believed her, of course, and the egg was set to go on display at the Natural History Museum tomorrow. With one catch: tonight, it will hatch, and hundreds, if not thousands, would die. Conveniently, there was a gala opening for the exhibit that very evening, and the good doctor managed to procure tickets. She also offered to pay for new outfits so the group will fit in at the party. Not one to let a good deed go unrewarded, Ashrina also gave Dr. Dannell the opportunity to donate her bag of holding to the cause (of Ashrina having a sweet new interdimensional purse).
Spurred on mostly by curiosity and the Clasp's instructions, not to mention the promise of a swanky shopping spree, the group decided they will go ahead and save Emon after all, though they're not all convinced the egg is real. Sliver, for his part, isn't keen on the idea of killing a hatchling, even a freshly hatched eldrich horror. The professor's plan, as described, involved stealing the egg and then imprisoning it in a crystal that she just happens to have in her rooms. This will spare Sliver the moral quandary involved in killing something that has just hatched. He's also quite gratified that he's been summoned to steal something - he thought it was going to be something difficult.
After not deciding on a plan, the group headed for the Erudite Quarter to spend the good professor's hard earned money at Aura, a bespoke clothier. There they were greeted by the owner, the most fabulous kobold to walk the streets of Emon, and the group outfitted themselves with party attire after some haggling and paying a small fortune of someone else's gold for same-day service. All outfitted themselves well, but Sliver outdid himself in a purple jacket and green flared pants, intending to dress himself as a waiter for the gala and save the finery for another day.
On the way, the team decided that they were not going to steal the egg at the gala unless the perfect opportunity presented itself, and so Sliver's hopes of sneaking in as a waiter and walking out with the egg were dashed. After a quick walk around the block to find the museums' entrances and exits, they entered the museum and began admiring the exhibits on the ground floor. Garrick chatted up a bored museum employee in hopes of getting an in with the staff, learning of her side gig as a horror poet, while Kid found the staff entrances remarkably unsecure and Ashrina discovered a janitor exiting a secret room in one of the exhibit halls. Sliver purchased a museum badge from the gift shop, and promptly began bossing around the staff and escorting wealthy-looking patrons upstairs, not really listening to them except to glean information about the exhibit or any valuables on their persons. Tarlan, bemused, stayed behind to keep an eye on Sliver.
Finally, the group headed upstairs to where the exhibit would take place. Garrick headed directly for the privy-rooms to try and find a way to break the wall to get into the exhibit room with the egg. Tarlan examined the Allosaurus exhibit, found a panel, and asked Kid to take a look. Stealthily as can be, Kid opened the panel and found dials and levers, seemingly to control the dinosaur exhibit. Ashrina spotted a conveniently-placed and completely unsecured vent on the exhibit room wall. Not content with merely being extremely useful, she then snuck into the attic and unlocked the museum's skylight while Kid kept watch on...something else entirely.
The party began, with the curator opening the exhibit room and slipping the key into her clutch, which Kid noted she keeps to hand at all times. The group kept watch for signs of any party-goers under the influence of the egg's eldrich occupant, but saw nothing. Kid sidled up to the egg, finding the magical defenses on its pedestal. Garrick concerned himself with the doors, satisfied that the security mechanisms could be blocked with the furniture if need be. While Ashrina ate and drank merrily, Tarlan began speaking with a down-on-her luck noblewoman attending the party to find a suitable suitor. Noting Tarlan's suit from Aura, she seemed newly interested in his company, until Tarlan admitted that he doesn't regularly shop there and that parties makes him nervous. Sliver circulated, serving food and drinks to the patrons he'd scammed earlier and learning that the basement of the museum is full of valuable riches that no one does anything with. Ashrina, having seen the museum curator leave the room upon receiving a mysterious note, snuck after her, confirming both that the curator is a creepy doll enthusiast, and that she keeps the key to her office in her clutch.
At some point during all of this, Sliver left the party and wrote a vaguely threatening note to the curator on a bar napkin, reminding her that she's been warned of the consequences of putting the egg on display. He instructed a server to deliver the note, then removed his jacket and makeup and headed downstairs, away from the aftermath. As requested, the note was delivered, which the rest of the group saw the curator read and crumple up angrily. Tarlan then approached the curator, asking about the stone on display and insinuating that he'd seen something similar in a book. A book about eggs. Angrily refuting this assertion, the curator placed both hands on the stone, and a wave of energy rocked the room. Many party-goers became ill, including Ashrina, who broke out in a sheen and felt dizzy and weak momentarily. The chaos passed quickly, but it was enough for the curator to decide that in fact a gala opening for an eldrich horror was not a good idea and usher everyone out.
Back on the street, the group reassembled to ready themselves for the heist. But before anyone could say anything, Tarlan, staunch cleric of the Dawnfather and firm moral center of the group, held up the clutch he stole from the museum's curator during the commotion, and asked if anyone had forgotten their purse.

2023.06.09 16:30 ThrowRA_kisuhari still unsure if my friend (22m) may think of me (21f) as something more due to the things he says.
this is sort of an update to my last post, which can be seen on my profile.
so today I went over to his place to watch a movie, the movie was good, he just sort of let me chill out and watch it on my own while he finished up on university work at his desk.
when I told him the movie had finished, that's when he got really playful, with him telling me how he's bored and once again collapsing on top of me like how I've stated in my previous post. I was sort of laying on my side, as one does, and he layed down on his side on top of me (I don't know how to explain it) and because I like to be annoying and try to make him flinch by pretending to knee him, he had my legs locked between his and his hands just casually resting on my legs as he scrolled on his phone. we had a pillow between us, so it wasn't exactly direct contact I guess.
this is the part that's thrown me for a loop. at some point, I readjusted so I'd be lying flat on my back. as if it was the most casual thing in the world, K readjusted himself so that he was laying down between my legs and put the pillow on my stomach so he could rest his head on it. he then grabbed one of my legs and brought it over his shoulder so he could "hug" it, I guess (?) as he scrolled through his phone. every now and again he'd full on just rest his head against my thigh that he had propped up.
eventually he decided he need to finish his work and got up, telling me I should rest and whatnot. after denying the fact I needed sleep, he got back into the previous position, however this time without a pillow acting as a barrier and with him full on using my thigh as a place for his head.
he kept asking it was comfortable, to which I repeated the question back to him and he confirmed, saying it really was. and that was that, we stayed like that for a while until I said it was time for me to leave for my martial arts practice.
he didn't do anything more than that, and as we were in that position, he kept saying stuff like how he should introduce me to some friends and that he'd tell them that I'm "single and ready to mingle" and things similar.
I'm still not sure if this is normal behaviour between friends. I'm a female who has next to zero relationship experience who isn't sure what to think, and the way he was just so casual about it has me thinking that it's just him showing that he's comfortable around me in some kind of way.
I'm just feeling so so lost over this, and am still not sure if this is just friendly (or maybe even overfriendly) behaviour between two friends.

2023.06.09 16:30 khoafraelich789 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 First Test Review: The SUV That Does It All
| https://preview.redd.it/5nopc2325d3b1.png?width=875&format=png&auto=webp&s=874e3908d1aba6f3960e566578f51001e91e8719 Need to do, well, just about anything? The Tahoe can handle it. Pros Aggressive approach and departure angles Soft-touch interior details Great versatility for family adventuring Cons 5.3-liter V-8's lackluster performance/economy 20-inch wheels aren't practical for off-roading Push-button gear selector is fussy for no good reason In these SUV-crazed times, and when gas prices are a lesser concern, the Chevrolet Tahoe just might be the quintessential modern family vehicle. As a jack of all trades, it can tow toys, haul stuff, transport people, tackle a trail, and hold its own in the valet line. But as the saying continues, as a master of none, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe Z71 we tested isn't overwhelmingly excellent in any one category, instead aiming for a well-rounded, realistic target that it mostly nails for families (and businesses) with lots of things to do. For these customers, versatility beats being a master of one, as the saying sometimes ends. And hey, it's way more stylish than settling into minivan life. Z71 Trim: What It Includes The Z71 is the Tahoe's most off-road-oriented trim, falling below the Premier and High Country in terms of starting price. Exterior visual differences up front include a skidplate and a high-clearance fascia with red recovery hooks. Seasoned off-roaders know GM trucks have poor approach angles that often result in stuffing the front end into obstacles and ripping off valances, so this adapted front end is a definite positive for those who will actually take their Z71 on the trail. That fascia combines with the Z71's available air suspension (good for a 2-inch boost over normal ride height) to provide an approach angle of 34.5 degrees; the Z71's departure angle is 22.5 degrees, and both angles represent useful improvements over more road-oriented models. The Z71 also features machined aluminum 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275/60 (33-inch) Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires, black assist steps, and black roof-mounted side rails. The Z71 Off-Road package, available for another $6,000, bundles the Luxury, Max Trailering, Driver Alert, and Off-Road Capability packages, allowing buyers to pack on tons of features with one check mark. The last package specifically adds an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD), Magnetic Ride Control dampers, and adaptive air springs. You cannot order a Z71 with GM's excellent Super Cruise hands-free driving system, however. The adaptive air suspension automatically adjusts for road conditions, lowering to improve aerodynamics and efficiency. You can also adjust it manually. Once in park, it kneels (lowers) for easier egress—though it's a rather slow process. The system is quiet with no loud air compressor sound and pretty seamless. The setup offers nice ride quality, but does it make or break the Z71? Not really, as Tahoes on the regular suspension aren't uncomfortable. On the plus side, we used it to adjust heights when hooking and unhooking trailers. Why jump on the tailgate to disengage the ball when you can air down and lower the hitch? Why We're Testing It About that electronic limited-slip differential that we mentioned: When we previously tested a Chevy Tahoe Z71, the eLSD wasn't yet available; instead, that truck had a mechanical rear limited-slip diff. Again, this isn't a feature that's going to make or break the Z71 for the majority of customers; most of the time, you'd never know it was there. In certain low-range limited-traction circumstances, it could make a difference. That said, our colleagues at Four Wheeler put it to the test: "Our crew found that [the eLSD] wasn't tuned quite as well as the competition's. It's almost as if GM's engineers designed the Tahoe's eLSD to require a lot of wheelspin before engaging. An actual electronically controlled locking rear differential would make a world of difference." It becomes even less of a necessity considering most folks won't want to have our test SUV's 20-inch wheels if they're going to do regular trailwork. Ain't So Peppy But Gets It Done Our Radiant Red four-wheel-drive 2023 Chevy Tahoe Z71 housed the 5.3-liter V-8 making 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. It gets the big SUV up to speed with little fanfare and works through a 10-speed automatic transmission that happily works away in the background. If you love the good ol' sounds and experience of a trusty V-8, the Tahoe's for you—your gas engine choices are this V-8 or a different V-8. (A torquey 3.0-liter turbodiesel is also available.) However, long gone are the days when V-8 automatically means quicker and faster than the rest. Our Z71 accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds. Not bad, Jack, but the problem is that nearly all the four-wheel-drive full-size three-row competition betters that time. The Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia with their twin-turbo V-6s are both quicker, with the former reaching 60 mph a full two seconds ahead of the Z71. Rather than hanging with the zippy V-6s, the Z71 sandwiches nicely between its V-8 competitors, the Nissan Armada on top and the Wagoneer on the bottom. (Of course, the Wagoneer's V-8 Hemi is going bye-bye in favor of the excellent Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six.) The Z71 is the only one of these SUVs under 400 horsepower, and the fact that it's light—only the Expedition is lighter—doesn't make a difference. Maybe it's good there's a new sixth-gen small-block in the works. Stick With The 5.3-Liter The other available V-8, the 6.2-liter, is good for an additional 65 hp and 77 lb-ft of torque. Maybe more displacement delivers more awesome? Naturally, the 6.2-liter offers stronger foot-to-the-floor acceleration, but it also results in a heavier Tahoe that can tow and haul less than the 5.3-liter. Plus, the option tacks on an immediate $8,605 or so. And it requires premium gasoline. Unless you absolutely insist on having the biggest V-8 you can get, we'd stick with the 5.3-liter. Any benefits of the 6.2-liter just don't outweigh the 5.3-liter. The 5.3-liter pulls the Tahoe around reasonably well in regular driving, and no one in the school drop-off line will really be the wiser. All Those Trades This Jack Of An SUV Covers Let's look at all the trades this jack covers. First, it's good for four people. The Chevy Tahoe Z71 can seat seven, even eight, but it's really in its element with four aboard. They each have their own captain's chair to stretch out, and the rear entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch screens now comes with built-in apps, making it more broadly useful. It's perfect for a family of four, with room in the third row for occasionally carrying grandparents or your kids' friends. Getting the whole crew out the door to dinner can be like herding cats; taking everyone in one car is a definite bonus. With the third row down, there's also enough room for all four folks to bring a decent load of luggage. If you plan to use the third row consistently, however, things get cramped very quickly. You gain people, but with the third row in use, you lose luggage room for those extra people. For families greater than four considering a Tahoe, we'd recommend a Suburban. It can haul and tow. The Z71 has a payload of about 1,700 pounds and as equipped here can tow 8,200 pounds. Sans kids, we once flipped all but the driver and passenger seats down and hauled a metric ton of overlanding gear to install on another project. The enclosed, upright space handled everything like a boss, and it would have been much harder to secure the load in a pickup. Plus, the Z71 has automatic load-leveling thanks to that air suspension. As for towing, we hitched an 8,000-pound 21-foot toy hauler to the Z71's cousin, the GMC Yukon AT4, and dragged it on a 2,400-mile road trip. We faced white-knuckle wind at the Bonneville Flats—the strongest we've ever experienced—steep grades, and everything in between. It did the job with confidence and stability. It's not all glowing, though. We averaged less than 9 mpg mpg while towing. Combined with the 24-gallon fuel tank, we were stopping for gas literally every time we could. It's not miserable off-road. Short of "death-wheeling," proceed with confidence. The Z71 does not feel like it'll fall apart off-road. For sketchier trails, it has four-low, the eLSD, an Off-Road drive mode, 10 inches of ground clearance, a bumper made for moderate step-ups, and multiple camera angles for seeing obstacles. You probably won't go buy a Z71 specifically for off-roading—and if you do, again, you probably want to fit smaller wheels—but our colleagues at Four Wheeler named the GMC variant its SUV of the Year. In The End … The Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 isn't the most glamorous SUV going; even the GMC Yukon is perceived as more prestigious. But it can tow, it can take you far off the beaten path without shaking itself to death, it can swallow a ton of cargo, and it's as comfortable for long trips as almost anything you can buy. If you don't crave extra power or stout acceleration and aren't a fan of flashy SUVs, it's worth a look. Source: motortrend submitted by khoafraelich789 to CarInformationNews [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 16:30 InevitableBrain2344 Cycle Recap - HLS bound, No R's, and kJD thoughts
Long overdue but I wanted to write a recap and give some unsolicited thoughts because these posts were immensely helpful to me last year going into the cycle. Anecdotal as this evidence may be, I hope it will help someone and I'm happy to ask questions below or PM me!
A bit about me -
stats: 17low, 3.9high, nURM (mixed asian/white)
kJD humanities major, had part time internships during summer and semesters for all of junior and senior year (one legal one not), decently involved at school
Acceptances: Chicago, Columbia, Harvard (attending), NYU, Cornell, Northwestern, Georgetown, WashU, UT Austin, Vanderbilt, plus 2 local schools I won't include to avoid doxxing myself
Waitlists: Yale, Stanford, Penn, UVA, Berkeley, Michigan, Duke, Boston College
As I prepared my application, the thing I was most focused on was showcasing my strengths as an applicant despite being a kJD. I spent a lot of time thinking about who I was as a well-rounded individual, and what kind of narrative I wanted to craft through my materials so that when someone read my app, they would come away with clear takeaways about who I am. This was incredibly helpful in crafting a genuine and compelling personal statement that was deep and specific.
The biggest piece of advice I would give to anyone, but especially kJDs, is to focus on depth as opposed to breadth, both in what you do in the years leading up to your application and in the crafting of your materials themselves. When I think about what an application of someone who has graduated and worked for a few years must look like, they have the advantage of however many years of full time work experience to write and speak about, whereas a kJD probably has much shorter, more surface-level activities on their resume, whether that's internships, clubs, research, etc. I think it's important to show strong commitment and showcase the hard work you put into whatever you did. I obviously can't prove this, but I do think that is part of why my cycle was successful, because I had a solid resume and PS with depth. With only 4 years of life experience, kJDs have less to pull from, so show what you've got.
Finally, for your own well-being, do your best to limit how much time you spend on this god-forsaken site. Don't download the app on your phone to avoid doomscrolling, and remember that this process does not define you. Feel free to ask questions, and to the class of 2027, you got this!!

2023.06.09 16:26 ThrowRA_kisuhari still unsure if my friend (22m) may think of me (21f) as something more due to the things he says.
this is sort of an update to my last post, which I have linked here:
https://www.reddit.com/relationships/comments/1443jo0/i\_21f\_am\_not\_sure\_if\_my\_friends\_m22\_behaviour\_is/ so today I went over to his place to watch a movie, the movie was good, he just sort of let me chill out and watch it on my own while he finished up on university work at his desk.
when I told him the movie had finished, that's when he got really playful, with him telling me how he's bored and once again collapsing on top of me like how I've stated in my previous post.

2023.06.09 16:24 LydiaDeets7 Is this kind of weird?
My old boss, who I only worked with for 6 months, left the company for another job. He emailed me the other day asking for me to send him a POA I drafted a few months ago. I don’t think this is appropriate? I no longer work for him and I’m a little ticked off at the idea of sending someone my work for them to update it and pass off as their own. This guy was a major micromanager and I wasn’t upset when he announced he was leaving the company. So it’s not like we have a close personal relationship or anything. I also don’t need him as a future reference, as I have plenty of other folks I could use.
I also feel like if I send it to him, what’s to stop him from asking me for other docs I’ve drafted? I would never, ever ask an ex-colleague to send me something that I could update and pass off as my own work. I could see maybe reaching out to get a mutual contact’s email address or phone number, but basically asking someone to do their job for them seems way over the top to me. What do ya’ll think? Am I overthinking this?

After running my agency for 4 years, delivering over $100M worth of value to my clients, and generating 8 figures in total revenue, I’ve realized that any agency can be a massive business with the right mechanisms in place. When I began building my agency in 2018, it was a good business for me and my partner. It put food on the table, and we were able to help to grow other businesses that we were passionate about. We didn’t realize at the time that the only thing keeping us at the mid-6-figure per year mark was our own mental blockages. Just about any agency can be an 8-figure a year endeavor, especially if you do it the way that we’ve done it. Most agency owners in the $10-30k per month range operate within a freelancer mindset. You struggle with hiring, you struggle with building processes, and you struggle with scaling. You do not have a demand problem. For every agency, there are at least 500 potential clients with a problem that your agency can solve, and they’re willing to pay good money for you to do so. With the right offer, 100-200 clients will be enough for you to have an 8-figure a year company that will sell for a multiple that could be in the range of 6-12X. This course consists of 10 modules with text and video, plus 3 bonus modules that outline everything you need to know about: - Building systems for scaling fast
- How to diversify your lead generation to never have an empty pipeline again
- Assembling a team of people who care about your company’s vision as much as you
- Remaining profitable as you scale
- Avoiding mistakes at the intermediate and advanced levels with your business
- The steps you need to take to sell your agency for 8+ figures
As long as you have an offer that’s proven to work in an industry that’s likely to continue to exist in 10 years, you have a multi-million dollar opportunity at your fingertips. At the $10-30k a month level with an agency, you’re currently working harder than you will be at $100k a month. The good news is, you’re only a few months away from hitting that target profitably if you do exactly what I outline in this course. After thousands of mistakes in the building process, I know exactly what I’d do if I had to start from zero. If you’re just starting, you have the opportunity to build everything right and avoid 90% of the mistakes that we made in the early days. Instead of taking 4 years to scale to ~8 figures like my team and I did, you could potentially do it in half the time. Before you buy, you need to understand this. This course will work for any agency in the digital space, but it is not for beginners. This is not to show you how to land your first client and find your niche. This will only work if you have at least 2-4 clients and you already understand your offer. My strategies for client acquisition, client retention, offer structure, team building, and systems will only work if you already have the foundations in place. If you’re above $60k a year but below $1M a year, this will work for you. Inside, I also share information about my agency that I’ve never shared before. I do a deep dive into everything that’s allowed us to scale from high-6-figures in 2019 to high-7-figures in 2021. Everything from the way you need to think about things, to the way you need to execute things. I leave nothing out of this. If you’re ready to scale your agency from $10-30k a month up to 6 figures a month, click below to get access to everything you’ll ever need today. submitted by AutoModerator to GenkiCourses_Cheapest [link] [comments] |

Here are the stories we plan to cover:
AI-automated malware campaigns coming soon, says Mikko Hyppönen Cybersecurity pioneer Mikko Hyppönen began his cybersecurity career 32 years ago at Finnish cybersecurity company F-Secure, two years before Tim Berners-Lee released the world’s first web browser, and is now the chief research officer at WithSecure. In an interview with CSO Online. He states it is “mandatory for the cybersecurity industry to embrace AI technology…It will only be a matter of months before malicious threat actors use widely available AI source code to perfect their techniques for complete automation of malware campaigns.” (

US research agency examines cyber psychology to outwit criminal hackers A new project at the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity — the U.S. intelligence community’s moonshot research division — is trying to better understand hackers’ psychology, discover their blind spots and build software that exploits these deficiencies to improve computer security. “When you look at how attackers gain access, they often take advantage of human limitations and errors, but our defenses don’t do that,” Kimberly Ferguson-Walter, the IARPA program manager overseeing the initiative, told CyberScoop. Dubbed Reimagining Security with Cyberpsychology-Informed Network Defenses or “ReSCIND,” the IARPA initiative is an open competition inviting expert teams to submit proposals for how they would study hackers’ psychological weaknesses and then build software exploiting them. Barracuda urges customers to replace vulnerable appliances immediately Following up on a story we covered last week, enterprise security company Barracuda has now warned its customers against using email security gateway (ESG) appliances impacted by a recently disclosed zero-day exploit and to replace them immediately. A patch for the vulnerability, which has been exploited since October 2022, had been issued by Barracuda last month to stop the exploit from allowing ESG backdooring. “The vulnerability existed in a module which initially screens the attachments of incoming emails,” the company had said previously. “No other Barracuda products, including our SaaS email security services, were subject to the vulnerability identified.” (

Clop blamed for MOVEit attack Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team attributed the recent attack against the popular managed file transfer platform to the Clop ransomware organization. It found the zero-day used in the attack followed similar behavior observed with Clop in the past. The attacks used a vulnerability to deploy crafted webshells on servers, providing access to files and credentials. Bleeping Computer and various security researchers observed attacks in the wild with this exploit over Memorial Day weekend. No word on any ransom demands yet. Clop previously used vulnerabilities in the Accellion FTA and GoAnywhere MFT in the past. (

New ChatGPT attack technique spreads malicious packages Vulcan Cyber's Voyager18 research team described the discovery in an advisory published this week. Based on their proof of concept, researcher Bar Lanyado said the team identified a new malicious package spreading technique they called "AI package hallucination." The technique involves posing a question to ChatGPT, requesting a package to solve a coding problem, and receiving multiple package recommendations, including some not published in legitimate repositories. By replacing these non-existent packages with their own malicious ones, attackers can deceive future users who rely on ChatGPT's recommendations. (

Google Workspace gets passkeys Google added passkey support for Workspace admins, meaning they can now enable users to sign in to either a Workspace or Google Cloud account using a passkey, no password required. By default, Workspace accounts will still require a password. But even when not allowing passkeys as a sign-in, organizations can still enable them for 2FA. Back in December, Google added passkey support in Chrome, and last month it added passkey login support for standard accounts. (

1Password launches its public passkey beta Password manager 1Password has launched its public beta for passkeys, which will allow users to replace passwords with authentication systems built into their devices. 1Password users can now create, store, and share passkeys for supported websites by installing the 1Password beta browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, or Brave. Passkeys can only be created for websites and services that have rolled out their own passkey support. 1Password users will be able to vote on which sites and services they’d like to support passkeys. While it won’t guarantee those platforms will integrate passkey support, the hope seems to be that developers will be motivated to add the feature due to popular demand. (

Verizon releases its annual Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) On Tuesday, Verizon issued its 2023 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR). The report revealed that three-quarters of data breaches over the last year (74%) involved the human element, caused by employees falling for social engineering attacks, making errors, or using their access maliciously. Credentials accounted for seventy-six percent of the data compromised in social engineering attacks followed by internal organizational information (28%) and personal data. Finally, the report noted that ransomware events held steady accounting for about a quarter of overall incidents, however the median cost of a ransomware attack doubled since the prior year. Verizon noted that in order to rein in these key trends, organizations need to focus on employee security hygiene, implementing true multifactor authentication, and collaboration across organizations to share threat intelligence. SEC drops cases due to data protection failures The US Securities and Exchange Commission dismissed 42 cases due to its staff access documents only intended for judges. This came after a review that began back in April 2022, when it disclosed two other cases that broke similar legal rules. Due to insufficient safeguards within the agency, staffers could download restricted databases and share access through internal memos. The SEC said it found “no evidence that the control deficiency resulted in harm to any respondent or affected the Commission’s adjudication in any proceeding.” (

2023.06.09 16:23 Mikee_Juh14 AITA for being "disrespectful" to an old lady (KAREN) because one of her 2 kids were "hurt"?
Hello, I'm a girl (14yo) and I live in Brazil, some context: I live in a house that it's half of the original owner and the other part my family. I was drinking my coffee then I saw a woman overleaning on the fence, I came to the door and here comes the discussion.
Old lady: Can you come here please?(she was alone and said that with a clearly mad voice)
Me: Uhh... sorry but, can you say what happend?(I was confused bc she was looking at me like I was a homeless w a pajamas.)
Old lady: No, come here NOW (she said raising the voice to me )
I was astonished (a lil mad w her too) and walked into half of courtyard that's a lil garden of the owner of the house.
Me: Now that I came, tell me, what's going on ? (I knew only looking at her that she was a Karen.)
Karen:You are so rude! Well ... I was taking MY DAUGHTERto school when she hurt herself on two thorn branches tey had were, I wrote on the neighborhood group what happend, then I came back to take some photos and they were GONE! I want to know who owns that back house!
Me: ... (still surprised and mad. I walk back from school every day and I NEVER saw a branch, 'cause it does not have in the garden.)
Karen:Tell me.Im going to a police station to file a complaint against him.
I looked at her, arched my eyebrow and said : Their out for business, come back later please.
Karen: Unbelievable... she hurt her forehead, nose and chin. I'm going to the daycare get her, if she is going to a hospital YOUR PARENTS are gonna pay!
I walked into the house and grab my phone to call my mom.I sent a audio to her, saying that a crazy old lady was our fence, stating that her child was hurt and saying that she called me Rude.
Fun fact: The Karen tripped and she fell like a piece of shit on the sidewalk, I LMFAO so hard that my stomach hurt.(I was inside of the house)
My parents came some time minutes later and asked me what happend. I told them everything, even the fun fact ,my mom laughed too.
They found the Karen talking the gardener and confronted her. I couldn't hear much but my mom was Cleary angry. My father came back and said that she tried to extort my mother saying that her kid had to go to the hospital.
My Father: you was w her?
Karen: Of Course!!
My Father: Then why did you let she get hurt?
Karen didn't answered just looked surprised to my father.
My Father: OH right! She was not hurt because today is a national holiday, that is, there is no class, my daughter did not go to class. That's why she was in home.
Karen was astonished and just left very angry 'cause she couldn't apply her scam.
My Father told me not to worry about anything and stay indoors if she came back to bother me. AITA for calling my parents on her?

2023.06.09 16:20 boringhistoryfan Gradadmissions and the Reddit Blackout Protest.
By now many of you have probably heard a lot about
The Open Letter about API Pricing. Some of your
favorite subreddits may have signed up to protest. I'm sure many of you might be wondering what an API is. Subreddits like
explainlikeimfive have highlighted in an easy way to understand
what API is and
why this is change is a problem.
AskHistorians have explained in detail why so many Mods are upset and, frankly, disillusioned, in the wake of the Admin announcement.
To a lot of people, the API changes are not a big deal. To try and explain why we're joining up, I've gotten permission to use this post
BestofRedditorUpdates shared which helps communicate the issues at hand for us.
If you use the Official Apps and have no issue navigating it, that’s great. You may not have known that third party apps existed, or why people prefer them. If you’re wondering why people can’t just use the official app, we can acknowledge that for many users it is simply a personal preference. They’re used to it (some of us have been using them for years before there was ever an Official App) or they might simply prefer it because of the designs and features. If you’re interested in a visual representation of why so many prefer third party apps,
please check this bestof comment out for a side-by-side comparison.
For many mods, the mod tool support of these third parties largely makes our jobs much easier, which keeps the communities we all love safer. On a third party app, we can accomplish in two clicks what would take the Official App five. This efficiency means we can address more problems in the community in a more timely manner.
If you’re thinking to yourself, “If these apps are making a profit, Reddit deserves a cut!” we do agree. What most take issue with is that their API is being valued at 10-20x over what other similar services do, to the point where
almost every app has released some kind of statement that indicates
these changes will kill their apps. I could link to more statements like that, but you get the idea.
Before you ask “why can’t they just run ads to offset those costs”, Reddit has already decided this will not be an option for third party apps. One thing to be aware of as well is that
even if a third party app manages to survive July 1st through a subscription based model alone, those apps
will not have all the same content as the Official App. Namely, despite paying for the privilege of having a choice, NSFW content will be unavailable and invisible to those users.
If you’re thinking "well, I'm fine, I only use the mobile website via my chosen mobile browser" (chrome, mozilla, etc), you should be aware that Reddit has already been testing functions which
eliminate mobile web browsing, and there is no guarantee that your preferred method of using Reddit won’t be next.
Limiting user choice, charging exorbitant and predatory fees, and refusing to communicate, are all significant problems that the BoRU team takes issue with. However, the one we find most egregious is what this change will do to members of Reddit’s blind community.
How are blind Redditors impacted by this decision?
In short, Reddit’s Official Apps leave a lot to be desired at best, and are barely functional at worst. The app on iOS has incorrectly labeled controls, doesn’t always work with swipe, and not all functions can be accessed. For blind moderators, it can be difficult to impossible to find the moderation functions necessary to moderate, and customizing layouts to better suit their needs or make the app easier to navigate is similarly difficult to impossible. Third party apps
have addressed many of these types of issues because Reddit won’t, giving these underserved communities a voice that Reddit seems to have no problem taking away.
You might ask yourself how blind users navigated Reddit before there were apps, and the answer is that
it didn’t always used to be this way, but it has certainly
always had accessibility issues. In fact,
discussions about accessibility have been going on for months, if not years. Just a few months ago, Reddit received a
free consultation to make their mobile layout more accessible.
Reddit did not follow up privately or publicly until the protest’s momentum
started to build. Even after numerous, far more recent interactions with the Admin, there seems to be little progress or commitment concerning these issues. This type of interaction is exactly why we the BoRU mod team feel that Reddit is not making accessibility a priority.
Subreddits like
blind are vital for the visually impaired in various stages of blindness, providing not just a source of communal support, but insights, strategies, and resources to navigate their new and changing lives. In the wake of Reddit's changes, subreddits like
blind will be forced to go dark, leaving an already overlooked group without the invaluable support they both need and deserve.
These changes will also significantly impact volunteer run support subreddits such as
transcribersofreddit and
descriptionplease, which serve to allow visually impaired Redditors to read text images, and receive descriptions of visual content such as videos and images. These volunteers are indispensable to the blind community, because Reddit is the only social media website with no support for alternative text. As visually impaired Redditors are forced to use an app that is not designed with accessibility in mind, these communities will shrink, wither, and may cease to exist. (See
this video for more details on this subject).
For many of us, third party apps are a choice or a preference, but they are an absolute necessity for the visually impaired. The BoRU team is of the opinion that
pricing these apps out of existence before their own app is WCAG compliant is nothing short of passive discrimination. The mod team of BoRU, and many others, feel that July 1st is an unrealistic timeline to make all the changes necessary to make their App accessible. At this point, the only reasonable course of action is for Reddit to publish a public list of key results that they are committed to addressing, and guarantee that third party functionality will be left unchanged until they do.
Here at BoRU we take steps to try and ensure our content is accessible. We ask our contributors to provide image descriptions and to transcribe text images. Sometimes transcribing those text images can take significant time, especially when those images are numerous multi-image text exchanges. Our OPs have never complained when we make that request, even though it is not an official requirement. We find it inexcusable that Reddit cannot do the bare minimum to ensure their visually impaired users have a voice and community.
Frankly, disabled individuals are often expected to pay a premium for the same basic things everyone else uses and enjoys for free. Visually impaired Redditors
deserve equal access, and even if third party apps survive, they will not receive it. Those users will not have access to all of the content and features that the rest of Reddit will. Remember, NSFW content will be
unavailable to regular users on third party apps, and yes, disabled people like porn too!
-----
So what does this mean for us?
gradadmissions is going to stand in solidarity with the other subreddits protesting reddit's actions on the issue of how they are handling their API changes. Fundamentally for us, the issue is their determination to make things harder for users struggling with disabilities; a protest being spearheaded by
blind and the fact that their actions make moderation even harder for many mods.
As a result,
gradadmissions will be joining the blackout on June 12th for 48 hours. The subreddit will be private on those days, with a message explaining why we have gone private.
This means that no one will be able to access any of our content until the blackout is over.
Pending further developments, after 48 hours we will reassess the situation but gradadmissions will reopen since we recognize that this is an important resource for many and remaining indefinitely blacked out as many other subreddits might choose to do so will negatively impact those who need help and assistance.
We recognize that there will be voices both for and against this decision. And its important that even disagreement is voiced and heard. I'll be leaving this announcement post open, though it will be moderated the same as any other post in terms of the discourse that is allowed.
If you want to take your own actions but are unsure how to get news on the evolving status of the protest, check out

2023.06.09 16:20 wholedwarf /r/Quilling will be going dark on June 12th in protest against the planned API changes which will kill 3rd party apps
We will be joining the protest and
setting the subreddit to private on June 12th. What's going on? A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from
Apollo, to
Reddit is Fun, to
Narwhal, to
Boost.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as
Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the
old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
"Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and
Apollo would have to pay Reddit
$20 million per year to keep running as-is."
What's the plan? On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours:
others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
An open letter on the state of affairs regarding the API pricing and third party apps and how that will impact moderators and communities.
What can you do as a user? Complain!! - Message the mods of reddit, who are the admins of the site
- message reddit
- submit a support request
- comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one
- leave a review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at ModCoord also Save3rdPartyApps
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition!
- Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

2023.06.09 16:18 Lonely-Paper5013 Constant 5 am cooing, help?
I adopted a pair of female ring neck doves and then discovered that they were actually a male/female pair. They hatched a baby before I learned about birdy birth control and we’ve just realized that the baby is a boy too (he’s about 5 months old now and just started bowing and cooing behavior.) Had to separate the baby into his own cage because the female was bullying him, but now we have two males who coo and bow to themselves incessantly starting at 5:00 am. Personally I don’t mind the sound (reminds me of waking up in the spring in the countryside with all the wild birds) but my partner is going crazy.
Has anyone found a good way to get the doves to sleep in a bit or be a bit quieter? They also coo incessantly when you’re on the phone, which is difficult in a wfh situation.

I know that this situation is kinda off, and unique, but still. Besides the pay that im kinda conflicted on, and the trade off of not having any benefits at all, which im actually okay with, since there are no deadlines. The point is really, im okay with not making 'millions', and im okay with being under the average scale, but i dont think i could live with having barrel level pay. Im just really curious about opinions, and some guidelines with this giving situation, what would be an okay prospect for future raises, like how much increase per year, or 2 years idk. Describe the purpose : Merhaba! I am Taha Can Sarı and I’m writing on behalf of the DeFiChain Team from Turkey. We all are invested in DFI for more than 1 year. While there was no CFP, we tried to move the DFI Turkey community forward as much as we could. With this CFP, we aim to grow the DFI Turkey community even more. Our goal is to explain DeFiChain in the best way possible to Turkish-speaking people and teach them the excellence of the DeFiChain ecosystem. Who are we? https://preview.redd.it/r6amowdw305b1.png?width=633&format=png&auto=webp&s=695a95a53e30c649efe58634f91b607d5065d0d7 What have we done so far? Since July 2022 we have been preparing DeFiChain related content for DeFiChain Turkey website. We are preparing unique blog posts on topics like MN, liquidity mining, weekly updates, MetaChain, as well as translating content, that is being posted in the English blog. defichaintr.com (Design Update Coming Soon) We have published nearly 20 articles so far and we continue to increase them rapidly. We are actively publicising these articles on the DeFiChain Turkey Telegram Announcement channel and are receiving very positive feedback from the Turkish community. We also actively manage DeFiChain Turkey Twitter account. Here, we both address DFI investors and explain DeFiChain to potential people who will be new investors in DFI. DeFiChain Twitter We also manage a YouTube channel for the DeFiChain Turkey Community. We will continue to expand the DFI Turkey Community by making appearances in more communities in this way. Furthermore, we are already in contact with many Turkish communities and are in the planing stage of our next AMA’s. https://preview.redd.it/6kb5g87i105b1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=7fd84e00b5774c7849ab806111ffff24f73ade1e As DeFiChain Turkey team, we want to be the first point of contact for the Turkish community. Our plans to achieve this are as follows • Telegram 1k+ members• Twitter 1k+ followers• Instagram 1k+ followers• YouTube 1k+ subscribers• Website, better SEO and more traffic We believe that our work adds value to the overall DeFiChain community by providing understandable, ready-to-use resources for everyone, enabling new investors to join the DFI ecosystem, and increasing the decentralisation of the project. As many of you will know, the more investors we reach, the higher the value of DeFiChain will be. The higher the value of DeFiChain, the higher the price, which will benefit the community the most. We believe that you will support us and contribute to our projects as a community. <3 Summary of our current stats:• Telegram 469 members• Twitter 195 followers• Instagram 69 followers• YouTube 87 subscribers• Website: 21 unique blog posts How will the fund be spent? To grow a community, you need to create great content, and it takes time to create that content. Everything we've done so far has been paid for by our own budget. We are asking for community support to cover the maintenance expenses for all the platforms we have created for DeFiChain Turkey and to reward the time we spend on the content we produce. We are asking for 45000 DFI because we believe it will be a good boost in our efforts to grow the Turkish community. 20000 DFI will be used to set up a masternode. The rewards will be spent to sustain general expenses. Another benefit of creating a masternode, is that we will be able to deliver the first up-to-date step-by-step guide in Turkish on how to create a masternode, freeze the funds and cast a vote on the upcoming DeFiChain DFIP/CFP voting rounds through on-chain governance. 20000 DFI will be spent over time on community expansion in form of AMA’s, collaborations and local partnerships. 5000 DFI will be shared within the team as a reward for their time and efforts for DeFiChain. We are a highly motivated team, that has a great chance to move the Turkish community to the top regionally. How does this CFP benefit the DeFiChain? Turkey is a gigantic market for Cryptocurrency, and we think DFI is underrepresented in Turkey. By enabling us to create content in the Turkish language, we will be able to remove the language barrier and build bridges to the already existing huge crypto community in Turkey. At the time of this CFP presentation, we managed to grow our telegram community to 465 members. With the support of the international DeFiChain community and the backing of the masternode owners, we believe that we will grow the Turkish community significantly. submitted by tahacansr to defiblockchain [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 16:14 False-Respond-1865 How to survive with toxic sister?
Hello, I am a 22 years old female. I have four siblings, 1 brother who is 1 year older than me and he has cerebral palsy(he is the blessing in our lives) and 3 elder sisters of which 2 middle ones are twins and the eldest one is married. So we sisters are in the field of medicine and all my elder sisters are graduated but I am the only one not graduated yet and we all are preparing for exams to pursue medicine in foreign countries and none of us is working at the moment. We all sisters live together in a house far away from our parents because of education and my parents can’t move with us because my father built his business in that small city 20 years ago so that he can support us for our future as we all are planning to move out of our country due to bad situation of our country in general and it’s overall very expensive as we are 4 and foreign medical exams are super expensive hence moving will totally ruin our financial status. So the problem here with us that we sisters fight a lot. Specially my middle twin sisters. Both of them are 26. My eldest sister is married but she is currently living with us because her husband is in another country so she is staying with us till she gets done with her exams and stuff. I basically study in a medical school which is in another city than my sisters or parents live in but I have summer vacations going on that is why I chose to live with my sisters for my vacations. The problem with us is that we are happy in general with our studies and stuff but there happen to be a lot of fights between my sisters. Like I Just moved a few weeks back with them but the fights has been going on since we were kids. There are times that we are happy together but when the fights that happen are so big that they come to physical abuse. Mostly the fight includes one of my middle sisters. Let’s say she’s twin A. Now since we are growing up she has always been jealous of people like people who she used to study with because they get higher grades and she always all the time says that people compare her with her twin sister Twin B. Twin A is average looking and average in grades and she generally fights with people and has no friends at all. While Twin B is pretty, slim, well mannered and have really good friends. Now all of my siblings I have been always told that I am the smartest one and I have good confidence and I have even travelled outside of the country few times alone hence I have good contacts and I am generally friendly with everyone but I am average looking. Now the comparison Twin A talks about is mostly with Twin B. It is with me as well but with Twin B is even with small things. Now for example if we have few people coming to our house and me and Twin B are usually talkative so if any person talks to me or talks to Twin B then Twin A throws tantrums that people always do that they talk to you and not to me they always do comparison. Twin A always says to Twin B that people talk to you because you are pretty. Now in general we belong to a good, decent family and we try to make things up. We always(specially me because she listens to me) to calm down the situation whenever we or they fight but the situation goes so much out of hand that Twin A starts verbal and physical abuse. Twin A beats Twin B. Twin B comes back with replies too but she never tries to defend herself. Twin A out of aggression would through phones or laptops or anything around her. I always say to Twin A that you are better in a lot of things in which Twin B and I are not and much more things like not everyone will talk to us but one time she would agree to me and then the other time she would start fighting again. Now let me go to little back story of Twin A. Twin A was good student in general when she was young. As twins they have always been with each other and even after all these years they are together because they are in the same profession and now preparing for the exams of the same country. Now Twin B was average in school back then but Twin A was very good but when the time of MCAT came, Twin B got selected and Twin A did not. Then Twin B got into a medical school in which she got selected because of good scores while Twin A did not get selected into the merit one due to very low scores in MCAT but there is system of self selection in my country where you would have to pay 4x extra money to get into a med school. As Twin A did not get selected she asked my father to get her into self selection one and then my father agreed she went into a 5 year medical school but the school was different from the one Twin B was into. Now when Twin A got into med school she faced a lot. She got diagnosed with religious OCD and we all sisters helped her through that we used to go with her to the doctor help her with stuff but the terms between Twin A and Twin B did not get any better. When Twin B got into med school on her own and she got separated from Twin A she saw a different perspective of life. She always said that she is glad she got out of Twin B’s negativity, comparison, jealousy and abusive environment. Twin A when she was in med school used to get into a lot of fights with people, she used to trust other people and give them money and she had a lot of issues with her roommates and people in the University as well. After 5 years both of them came out of their med school and started to live together because both are going for the same future path and they were living in the same city and it is generally not really safe for girls to live alone in my country and being from small city and being girls my parents are generally very much concerned about us. Now it has been 1.5 years since they have moved together there has been never a single day on which they had not fought. Twin B took her one foreign medical exam and passed although she started late then Twin A but she has to take 3 more however twin A has not taken any exam yet because she has not been prepared and she has very low confidence. But as I have 2 months off from my med school I have decided that I will be taking the exam as well so that I could get done it soon. Now Twin A and I have our exams in 1 month and Twin A is still not getting off of these fights and comparison and I am sick of it. My parents are not helping a lot because if they do anything Twin A then blocks them or goes out of the house without telling anyone or stuff like that. However we other three sisters are in good terms but Twin A always starts tantrums about comparisons when we never do comparison. If there is anything that I have then the same exact thing my other sister has. If I have been allowed to study for foreign exams then my other sisters are also given the same. But all this negativity and comparison is just killing my peace I mean I am already like dead and I have my exam in 1 month. We can not tell anything to my father because Twin A never listens to him and my father is already very stressed because we lost our grandfather a few months back. I don’t know where I should seek for help but it has been really hard for all of us. I just want to get done with my exams and move into another country and start earning but it will probably take me another 1.5 years. I don’t know what to do.

2023.06.09 16:14 I-figured-it-out Are NZPost the biggest pack
This is a rant born of frustration. I do hope it ruffles a few feathers, and wakes up a CEO and his board. Decades of steadily degrading service has made me a little angry.
Are NZPost courier staff all lazy, incompetent ill managed, uncommunicative wallies (excluding my local postie on a bike)? How hard is it to track a courier parcel correctly, and deliver to a destination just 37km from the parcels depot in a timely fashion?
Well it seems it is a job too hard for them to achieve because according to their internal tracking system the parcel was delivered from that nearby Depot that it was recorded externally as being delivered to at 9am this morning, to Upper Hutt over 500km away by 3:30pm.
This is not the first time in the last 2 months that parcels have been wrongly delivered to ridiculous destinations not matching the label. The closest miss they achieved was in March when they delivered a parcel to a random address three streets over and dropped the $1700 item on a confused homeowners doorstep, without a signature. Lucky for me that homeowner was honest and helpfully rang my number off the label and personally delivered it 5 minutes later, after packing his five young children into his car.
NZPost couriers could do better if instead of employing disinterested abusive passive aggressive immigrants, they employed semi-literate NZ school leavers with drivers licenses to deliver the parcels and run the business.
And they can’t even be bothered having proper local phone numbers, or to work weekends, unlike every other courier company based in NZ. In fact courier services in Eastern Europe, and war zones are more efficient, timely, and reliable. And are quite capable of delivering a package 37km in under 15 hours, or 48, or rather 76 hours as it appears might be the NZPost are barely capable of achieving - where I live in a part of the country where there are no floods, no roads out, no traffic jams, and beautifully fine driving weather.
“Do the job right or go home!” More kiwis need to shout this at employees who can’t be bothered to do the job. Playing nice with lazy incompetents has obviously failed us all big time!
