I recently left my previous job of 2.5 years as BDC in a car dealership for this position. The large dealership I worked for recently shut down their e-commerce division which includes 3 massive layoffs, and then changed my commission structure and I haven’t had a base raise since starting. This put me in a financial hardship since my income was heavily based on that original commission structure thus leading me explore other options. I had many hesitations about this recruiting offer, wasn’t too interested in what a recruiter does and couldn’t see another path to pivot to once being a recruiter, but the base pay made me feel more secured than my old job. I’m almost 2 months in and I fucking despise it. I dread going to work, I dread waking up knowing I have to go to work, I’m exceeding expectations but most time I just sit at my desk repeating “this is so stupid” or feel like banging my head on my desk. I hate sourcing and looking over peoples resume, I secretly hope my interviews don’t show up, people lie on their resumes, these companies we recruit for usually pass over most candidates. It just feels like such a waste of fucking time. This job just isn’t for me. I’m 38F, single mom of 4, ex husband is fighting child support and refuses to help me in anyway. The onset depression that I feel coming on that this job is causing is not helping me with being a good/healthy mom for my kids. Thing is…as I go back to indeed or LinkedIn, I realize how much I hate sales and just reading job descriptions for things I’m qualified for makes me even more depressed! I started in retail/sales while in college working part time but never finished school. Tried going back to finish my nursing degree about 6 years ago and that’s when I had to leave my ex and couldn’t finish. 3 semesters left and couldn’t finish. Having to work full time to pay bills doesn’t allow me to go to school for nursing but man I can’t do another 30 years working in this field, but I’m not qualified for any other jobs that pay enough to raise a family of 5. I’m burnt out and hopeless at this point. I’m not interested in tech or coding or anything involved with sitting at a computer all day. I have a ton of science credits (if they’re still valid) thought of maybe going back to school to be a science teacher… but am I too old to start a career in education? Don’t really know what else I could do or where to go from here 😩

It has been quite a year. I’m disappointed that we have gotten into the position we are in. Through job loss, depression, and unemployment for my husband, we finally sat down and looked at our finances. I feel overwhelmed and stuck- We used to be in a great position, with no debt but here we are.
I know we have to start somewhere. Honestly I have never had debt I couldn’t pay so the thought of consolidating sounds like a good idea. I am hopeful with direction and budgeting we can target a plan.
Income- Husband is currently back as Independent contractor clerking for $25/hour. He will take the bar exam in July and if all goes well, secure an attorney position in September.
I am 100% commission in sales. Variability but summer tends to be a good time but this isn’t a normal market to be in mortgages.
INCOME: -May = $3520 (~$2112 after tax) -June = $22,838 (~$13702.80 after tax) -July = $9,857 currently, could increase (~$5914.20 after tax) -July 1st = ~$3500 Husband Income -August 1st = ~$1700 Husband Income (reduced hours for studying).
Family- 4.5 year old, 2 year old both in full time childcare. Baby #3 due in September. No paid maternity leave, my income should continue. I will stay home through the end of 2023. 2 dogs.
Current Accounts: Checking Account = $5,763.38 Savings Account = $500.01 401k Account = ~$120,000
Liabilities: HVAC - $4,556.45 Balance. 0% interest if paid by 11/2023. Currently paying $550/month.
Mortgage- $2,458.20 PITI 5.875% ARM 30 Year (~$315k Loan, ~$85,000 equity)
BOA Credit Card- $32,809 Balance ($32,000 Limit). 19.74% Interest, Minimum Payment of $680.
Chase Credit Card- $8,832.07 Balance ($18,000 Limit) 27.99% Interest. Minimum Payment of $275.
Obviously I am paralyzed by the amount of debt against what we have and have coming in. Yes we anticipate a large income boost for my husband but I want to be in the best position before baby arrives. Our lack of emergency fund worries me.
We have cancelled subscriptions, have a budget through YNAB, and are working on selling items for extra income.
Is there an option that is worth exploring- Debt consolidation? Putting the cards away and just doing the minimum balance to save for an EF? Cash out refinance to pay off the debt and take a higher mortgage rate over the interest? We are probably in this home for only <3 more years.

I bought a 2023 Kia Forte GT last week and just noticed the car was very bumpy and unbalanced. Way worse than when I bought it. I checked the tire pressure and it’s at 49 psi. The car has 170 miles on it (140 by me) and I’m worried they skipped the Pre Delivery Inspection entirely. Any advice on how I should proceed with this dealership? I called Kia Corporate but after 30 minutes on hold I was hung up on. I called them back and am still waiting for a rep.

Hi all,
Looking for some advice. I’m looking at trading in my ‘20 Kia Forte EX for something a bit newer. I’m pretty interested in a 2023 Jetta SEL.
I’ve got two dealerships quoting MSRP $31,334, Pearl White and $30,436, Deep Black.
The dealers are only charging documentation, DMV fee, and taxes. Nothing additional is being charged/marked up/added.
Is it possible to get them under MSRP? I was car shopping other brands about six months ago and didn’t pull the trigger because every car was marked up a few thousand and by the time I negotiated that off, they down valued my trade a bit (or had insane additions they wouldn’t remove).
Any insight would be great! I’m comfortable with the car at MSRP but always looking to negotiate.

I know this is a topic that's been done and overdone and then done some more, but holy shit, I got a heavy reminder.
So I was round at a kinda ex-hookup-turned-friend's place yesterday evening just to catch up (we'd run into each other on Bumble the day before and it got us talking again). Conversation naturally turned to our love live's the last year, ex's, breakups, our online dating horror stories...etc... (she'd lost count of the number of conservative suited and booted dudes that had asked her to do the cuckolding thing), and eventually she admitted she'd decided to pay for Bumble Premium or whatever to see who's really out there.
She says this, and while doing so takes out her phone to show me her match queue, and I see the number '1550+' on the number of dudes that had swiped right on her. 1550! Not as in the year, but as in the number of dicks.
I look down at my own, and see the number 21. A difference of 194.56%.
Fear not, despite my skinny wrists this isn't some incel woe is me it's all feminism's fault yadayada kinda post. For context, I'm not the worst looking guy, definitely not everyone's cup of tea (lean but pretty looking full time musician/ultra runneBritish expat in a European capital, liberal, intersectional feminist 33 year old, 185cm guy), and if I were to use awful internet terms, I'd say her and I are at a similar point attractiveness-wise (made even more clear by the fact we dated and both were into the other), similar kinda vibe on our profile, similar age...etc...
